for those people in families that make at least 100K:

if you applied for a financial aid package or a need-based scholarship, has your request been accepted? it`s nearly impossible to get some type of financial aid like this when your family makes a lot of money, so i was wondering which scholarships/colleges will be willing to give you financial aid.

I wouldn't say it's impossible. Really depends on the cost of the college, what other factors go into your famiy's situation, etc. At some of the more expenses schools (mine included) we have many families who earn over $100,000 receiving some kind of financial aid (including need-based grants).

Our family makes about 100,000/yr. and the EFC Calculator gave us an EFC of about $20,000 (even though we really will have trouble affording that much since we have 5 kids in the family). Since I'm applying to schools that cost about $40,000 to attend, the schools are going to have to give us some sort of financial aid.

How does FAFSA treat divorced parents? I spend the same amount of time with each.... Together (especially including my stepdad) they make a hell of a lot of money, but there's no way we could afford college without aid. :( Boohoo.
