Your favorite era in the 1900s is ___.

The 1960s, because of all the radical social change. John Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr, Robert Kennedy, Civil Rights, the Troubles (60s-90s), Moon Landing, etc. That said, I wouldn’t want to be among the hippies. Nor be drafted into Vietnam…

As for the rest of the 1900s, I wouldn’t mind being in Dublin on April 24, 1916.

1950s and below: A lot of societal oppression for a lot of people (still continued after, but the 1960s really broke through. Probably the defining decade of the 1900s in America).

I wouldn’t want to live in any era before the 01960’s on account of the oppression/my life would suck. None of the times afterward especially appeal to me, so I would live in the 01990’s, just since I already know it.

90s 10 char

nah, it’s cool I’m the same. I mean my mother grew up covering herself in flour (a tale of wacky childhood antics my grandma was telling me) to get into the white pools and playground, only to have it come off and get in serious trouble. My grandma says this laughing and I’m like “O_o, that was racist” but she accepts it as “oh, that’s just how the time was”. And my brothers getting jumped weekly for being half black half mexican (and they were raised in the 80s/early90s), it’s like…thank god I’m born now.

Study: Cold War era
Live in: 1950s or 1980s

^^Haha, that story was kind of funny. Lol. But yea, my mom was born during the early 60’s in Mississippi, but she doesn’t have any stories like that to tell me. That’s really sad about your brothers. :frowning: I’m also very grateful to have been born when I was.

yay a history thread. It would have to be either the Age of Anxiety or the 1990’s

I sometimes sort of wish I could’ve grown up and went through my teenage years in the nineties, instead of just birth and early elementary school. As far as other periods, I think living in WWII era America would be interesting as well.

20’s and 60’s.

if i weren’t black…

1930s/20s or 1960s/70s

Favorite decades: 1) 1990s, 2) 1980s, 3) 1970s

I’m black too so honestly my life would’ve pretty much sucked before 1970. :frowning: If race wasn’t an issue, it would be cool to visit the 1950s and 1960s, especially the 60s. Ya know, sometimes I feel I was born in the wrong decade. Ever get that feeling? Sometimes I wish I was born somewhere between the late 60s and mid/late 70’s so that I could’ve fully experienced the 1980s and 1990s. I would’ve loved to be a kid in the 80s and a teen in the 90s.

Can someone please build a time machine already? :P

Can I choose a single year? 1969. Woodstock, moon landing, antiwar hippie stuff, etc.

Clothing: 1940s (not so silly as the 50s, but with a lot better hair than the '30s)
Culture: 1980s (I like science fiction, and it was a good time for that. So were the 50s, but the 80s are socially more modern. Just…God! The hair! And the clothes! Ahhhhhhh)

I forgot that I can’t go back to the 1920s or 40s because I’m black :(

^You could…you just might not have a very good time. :frowning:
Jazz was pretty popular back then. I’m sure that scene would have been a bit more enjoyable.

1990s because of all of the awesome alternative music which was created at the time. I LOVE TRENT REZNOR.

Roaring twenties. Although my favorite era of American history overall would definitely be the Gilded Age.

Everyone knows its all about the 90’s!!!

Why, you may ask? Because that’s the first decade I existed…

Lol jking

Probably the 40’s, 50’s. All the best movies were made then. OTOH, there is the Second World War and stuff which is not so nice.

Being black, anything pre-70s I want to avoid.
