Your FAVORITE Ivy?

Cornell is so not-selective anymore, esp. with the Ag. School, that they shouldn't even be an Ivy.

So many of them are uber-competitive, and Brown is regarded as "hippie." Therefore, Penn, which is amazing, wins.

lol. Cornell CAS selectivity easily matches up to your amazing Penn's CAS. Penn nursing school's selectivity is much higher than other schools at Penn, just like Ag. School at Cornell not being as selective as CAS. Wharton, though, is very selective. Do some research before making ridiculous statements.

can someone with the USNews access give the peer scores?
2008 USNWR Peer Assessment Scores for Ivies:

Harvard/Princeton - 4.9
Yale - 4.8
Columbia/Cornell - 4.6
U Penn - 4.5
Brown - 4.4
Dartmouth - 4.3

interesting that the peer assessment is siginficantly different in its placement of cornell among the top 5 and its placement of brown at 7th among the ivies. very interesting. i wonder how the peer assessment is actually created.

^ Peer Assessment is a survey of over 2,000 academics. It is controversial because it is subjective. Here is the explanation from USNWR:
Peer assessment. How the school is regarded by administrators at peer institutions. A school's peer assessment score is determined by surveying the presidents, provosts, and deans of admissions (or equivalent positions) at institutions in the school's category. Each individual was asked to rate peer schools' undergraduate academic programs on a scale from 1 (marginal) to 5 (distinguished). Those individuals who did not know enough about a school to evaluate it fairly were asked to mark "don't know." A school's score is the average score of all the respondents who rated it. Responses of "don't know" counted neither for nor against a school. The survey was conducted in the spring of 2007, and about 51 percent of those surveyed responded.

My feelings are that the Peer Assessment is more a score of faculty strength, program prestige and depth. For example, Harvard and Princeton have more distinguished programs (social sciences, humanities, and engineering (esp. for Princeton)) vs. Brown and Dartmouth. Many people say that it's more a strength of graduate programs vs. undergrad programs.

Here is the full list of Peer Assessment scores:

Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, MIT - 4.9
Yale, Berkeley - 4.8
Caltech - 4.7
Columbia, Cornell, Chicago, Johns Hopkins - 4.6
Penn, Michigan - 4.5
Brown, Duke - 4.4
Dartmouth, Northwestern, Virginia - 4.3

Princeton.

I used to really like Yale but all tose pictures of President Bush with the Y sweaters kinda turned me off.

Princeton Yale and Brown I love the architecture there along with the atmosphere. And really Prefer colleges outside metropolitans
