Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

Thank you for the free shipping code!! @10smomlc

@raclut and @thumper1 , we totally abused the free bagel offer from Panera Rewards. It was for a summer month and my younger son and I would ride bikes down there every day and get him a free bagel and ride home. They were always nice about it! (I tipped).

Aldi’s, in the DC area at any rate, has raspberries for just $1.39 for the small box through tomorrow. I bought three and they stayed good for four days until we finished them today.

Generally speaking, I love everything on Oprah’s favorite gift lists. However in particular, the Lasagna Trio plan has been fun this year.

If you like to travel and save some money CardCash is selling travel g/c’s at a discount. (Marriot up to 8.5% off, Southwest up to 9% off, Celebrity Cruises, hotels dot com, American Airlines, tripgift)

My son and his girlfriend wanted a couple of simple computer desks for Christmas. I sent them a couple of options, and one was a desk “on sale” at Macy’s from $299 to less than $150. They liked that one. On a whim, I googled the name of the desk, and found one that looked VERY similar at Staples for less than $90, and at Walmart for less than $70, with free shipping. This morning I called the manufacturer, and they confirmed that it was the exact same desk. Needles to say, I ordered them at Walmart, and I got both for less than I would have paid for one including the $11 shipping cost at Macy’s.

^^nice sleuthing, @1214mom!

@raclut, have you used CashCard before? Trying to figure out how it works.

We’ll be staying at a Marriott in January so buying a GC that will give me close to 8.5% savings is tempting but I feel skeptical. Also, the ones for Marriott say ‘ecode’. So, if I’ve made a reservation and will pay upon checkout at the hotel, would I be able to use these? Or would I have needed to pay online (thereby forcing me to book non-refundable rooms)?

@collage1 I have purchased giftcards from Cardcash. What they do is sell preowned gift cards that people are not able to use. I have never had any problems but have actually saved money. For example lets say you buy a $150 g/c for $120 on cardcash you have saved $30 right there.

They sell the physical cards that can be mailed to you. The ones that say ecode means it will be emailed to you and you can use it online immediately or you can print it out and use it at the store showing them the print out.

Coobies nursing bras are quite comfortable and fine for lounging around home or doing quick errands. No underwire IS comfortable but of course they don’t provide the support needed for optimal fit for more formal wear of more endowed chests. Thanks for the reduced price it wasn’t too expensive to pay for 4, even tho they charged for shipping to HI.

Ok so I finally went to Panera Bread today and ordered a bagel to carryout. The salesperson says, “Do you know you are entitled to a free bagel everyday this month?” I said yes but this is my first time coming since I don’t live close to one. You can just give me one and donate the rest because I don’t know if I will be able to come again so soon. He says here I will just give you a bag full of bagels. I say are you sure about that? He says how many would you like? I say whatever you want to give me is fine. He gave me a variety of a dozen bagels. I thanked him for being so generous. After he handed them to me in a bag he says I would have given you more but my boss is around.

^^^ How sweet! Good for him. And you! You can definitely freeze them!

Bloomies sent me a “secret discount” offer. It turned out that it was 30% instead of the typical 20% one would get… so I went poking around. Really glad I did, because I was bummed that the boots from Nordie’s were 1/2 size too small, and Bloomies had just one pair of that style - in the needed size! Yay! Got the right boots and saved some more money.

Our young canine friend (we rescued her last winter) chewed up the door and corner of the vanity in the powder room during her teething stage. Since we are having relatives over for the holidays, I stopped by Lowes to see about a replacement. There was a new vanity in an opened box, it was listed at $139. Since the box was open, I asked to inspect it - and we found it had no knobs/handles, and it had a scratch on the side. But since that side will be up against the corner wall, no bog deal to us. And we have knobs/handles from the old one. So I asked how much of a discount they could give me. He came back and offered it to me for $75! Deal!

Right now until 12/31, for every $25 Cheesecake Factory gift card you buy, you get one free Slice to be used in 1st quarter of 2019. It’s only one slice but better than none.

@HImom - it looks like CCF actually offered 2 slices again sometime right before Christmas last year, so I’m holding out on them.

I am contemplating these holiday mugs. Just a more pleasant way to enjoy coffee, tea, or hot cocoa on a cold winter day.

@raclut Wow that is a great price for Lenox. It looks like Macy’s also has other Lenox holidayware at bargain prices. With free shipping to boot! I am so tempted.

Just bought two sets of mugs, serving ware, and the small bowl. All at 75 percent off and free shipping.

Yay, upgrading our two seats from economy to economy plus for $19 apiece really did get us silver premier for 2019. Ended up with exactly $3000 Premier Qualifying Dollars!

The Christmas Spode stuff is 80% off at Macy’s.
Here is one example.
