Thanks - trustpilot is a new resource for me
Iāve never seen couch arm covers before! Maybe itās not a thing here in California.
To be fair, I think itās hit or miss with Temu. But, in my case, it was mostly miss ā their sizes are off, their pictures are off and quality is low for fabric related purchases. OTH, I bought some painting brushes and a puzzle in the same order. Great price and good quality.
The worst part is that Iām now inundated with emails from them, several in a day, regarding items I was foolish enough to look at. Thatās about to hopefully change when I unsubscribe.
I have never ordered but recently read some comments that some of the stuff can be absolutely fine, but donāt expect high end quality. Maybe an item would fit your needs. But also keeping in mind for a whole company to have extremely low prices you are probably getting what you paid for
So I had not been shopping for couch arm covers. (The hand towels we use are not glamorous, but they do protect them fabric). Just noticed a Temu ad.
Iād buy from Amazon!
Couches we purchased years ago, came with arm covers. They are nice because you can easily wash them. I noticed my new couch didnāt come with them. But maybe it just depends on the brand, prices, etc.
When we built our house 25 years ago we bought couches for our family room and living room. The family room ones came with arm covers in the same fabric. The living room ones did not but they are a different style arm. This topic made me realize when we recently had new slipcovers made for the family room they didnāt make arm covers.
We have arm covers for a couch, but we had to pay extra to get them. Honestly, they fall off all the time.
The little corkscrew upholstery pins work very well to hold them on. Itās the same pins I used to use to attach my bedskirt to the boxspring. In the past Iāve ordered them from Bed Bath and Beyond. I bet Amazon has them now.
I think the arm covers are a very east coast (maybe only New England) thing, and maybe have ended after the 1970s, or at least less common.
My mother always had Ethan Allen furniture (or Pennsylvania House) and those came with covers. My grandparents would have lace doily things, and always used the pins to hold them on. Why? They could be taken off and washed. My grandfather smoked, and the chairs got a lot of wear from him resting his elbows on the arms, plus needed cleaning a lot. Many of our Italian neighbors had plastic covers on their furniture so they didnāt have arm covers (or maybe they did, under the plastic).
Iām sitting in an Ethan Allen chair right now that my mother got at a thrift store and it has the matching covers (that fall off all the time).
We have armless couch, so no where to put arm covers. S bought USoCal throw blankets that we have folded on couch. They sometimes fall off but are available for snuggling.
Killing time before a delayed flight home. Really do like my new backpack purchased from Amazon based CC recommendationsā¦ not sure if from this thread or another.
I used mine this weekend Ailey as an extra small bag for extra footwear! And stuck my iPad and Kindle in it!
I believe backpack may have been on the travel clothing thread or on a separate backpack thread. So far, Iām happy with mine as well, that I got for myself and as a gift for my niece who will be a teacher.
My Ethan Allen couch in living room has arm covers. They donāt stay on that well, but really we rarely use that couchā¦ would have been fine without arm covers. The family room couch near the TV has big roll arms, and I know from previous couch that the velour really wears out at my husbandās end. Hence the towels covers.
