Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 2)

I also love the backpack!! Got the 17" version. Perfect for four day trip to visit son (brought it as personal item on Frontier & fit everything in it!) plus as daily laptop bag for work. So roomy!

Yes, I kept the 17” one and gave niece the 15” one too. The 17” one fits over both my suitcase and my portable O2 cart, so doubly useful. The 15” one is just too snug over the suitcase handle.

I think it will nicely carry the things I was keeping in another backpack but prefer the brighter lining in this bag, making it easier to find items.

My 17in bag was roomy but still fit nicely under the Jetblue seat. I do tuck a tiny purse in it too. For my next trip I am thinking about putting one of my packing cubes in it. I slept on the table with coat rolled up… but more cushion “pillow” would have worked better.

Colorado_mom- I squeezed two packing cubes into my 17" backpack for a long weekend - along with work laptop, charger, two large toiletry bags & more! All fit nicely under economy airline seat!

I bought 6 dresses from Nordstrom Rack and then another 3. Had them all mailed to me because I needed them in white/ivory and selection in store was minimal. I found the one dress that fit and I liked for $35+. It was creased and wrinkled because it came folded in a plastic bag. (I promptly returned the other 8 dresses and got immediate refund on my CCard.)

I couldn’t find our home steamer and the label said not to iron it or put it in dryer, so I took it to Nordstrom’s and the salesclerk cheerfully steamed it for me and told me to bring it back if it needed a touch up before I wore it. Now that’s great customer service!

If you use It’s A 10 hair products, there is 30% off sale. I think it’s free shipping too. The website has more options than I’ve seen in stores.

Do you like It’s a 10? I’m trying to find some conditioner that is strong enough to allow my dry, highlighted hair to go curly in the humid summer months. So far no luck, lol.

I actually have not tried the regular conditioner (used in shower). On my fine, permed hair I used the leave-in spray conditioner. It is kindof pricey.

I’m convinced that with hair products there is an algorithm that one must spend $200 on products before finding one right for them!

I use the Kristin Ess Air Crème when I want to let my wavy hair dry naturally. It keeps the curls but eliminates frizz.

I have short thick curly hair - I also use a Kristin Ess product - though not the air cream!

Sometimes I wish there were a good local charity to drop off the once-used “rejects”. But I think they’d all want sealed bottles.

You may want to try it’s a 10 with keratin. I use that and the regular. When it’s very humid I go with keratin.
ETA both of mine are after shower spray ones.

My Buy Nothing Facebook group allows gently used over the counter items for just this reason.

Yes - I am amazed at how many people will clamor for a half used bottle of lotion!!

Or maybe they can’t afford a bottle themselves. I think if it is going to somebody that needs or just wants it, that’s a win. No waste.

Probably too late, but we ordered 2 items yesterday on Amazon and saved nearly 50%! We checked a few days ago, then checked camelcamelcamel to see how the prices varied. It varied a lot. We decided to wait until Prime Day to see if there was a sale, and were delighted to see both items lowered considerably yesterday for July 4th sales.

If not mentioned before: Camelcamelcamel is worth visiting if you have time to wait for more expensive items. You can see how often (and when) they are typically on sale.

Totally agree! It surprises me how much a price can fluctuate. I bought the Kuhn Rikon Original Swiss Peeler 3-Pack for $11.65 on 6/24. When I went back to check the item because it was going to take more than 2 days to arrive even though I have Prime, I saw the price was now $19.95. It’s not an expensive item. It wasn’t/isn’t that big a deal. But checking price history is a good idea.

Thanks for the tips re: It’s a 10 & Kristin Ess! Will try one/both. Tried my old-school VO5 hot oil treatment (the go-to when I was in my teens/20s). Did next to nothing (hair still dry) so need to go stronger, lol.

In case people want to try It’s a Ten products but are put off by the price, I found that Sally’s Beauty carries a number of dupes (brand: Generic Value Products) for them. I use this heat protectant before blow drying/styling and find it works really well. I haven’t quite figured out when but about 4/year, these GVP products go on sale for 4 for $24 but, even without the sale, they’re priced well.
