Not my buy but I was the good mother and told my daughter that 1/2 price tickets were going on sale today by the Denver Broncos. They have an agreement that once a year they offer tickets for 1/2 price. Of course, this is after the season ticket sales, the single game tickets, all group sales…so there isn’t much left. My daughter got online at 6 am
She could only find 2 tickets in the same row so she and her boyfriend will have to ask some people to shift seats, but she’ll get to see her Aaron Rogers-less Packers.
I still got a thank you call for the tip. And the tickets only cost $50.
When we’ve gone to games at our local stadium, people have always offered to swap seats so our extended family could be together. We became friends with the 3 people who had season seats near ours.
The Kindle paperwhite I ordered a few weeks ago (details in prior post) arrived recently and is working well. Cover is backordered, no biggie.
I need to read The Covenant of Water for a book club, and I’m waaaay down the library wait list, hardcover and e-book. Happily the Kindle version had a price drop since I last looked. Kindle version is $9.28, instead of the $16 or $18 when I last looked. It does say “lowest price in past 30 days”.
The seats are only 4 apart in the same row, so it is likely the 3-4 people between them can shift one seat or the person on the end can swing around.
Or they can spend the whole game with my daughter leaning over them to shout at her boyfriend, ask them to pass things to him, listen to her talking about the Packers when they are likely Bronco fans.
It’s not like an airplane where they are giving up an aisle or a window. It’s likely all of these seats are in the center of a row, up in the nosebleeds.
Our daughter, an avid football fan, tried to use the Broncos sale to get some group tickets but ended up only getting a single ticket for self for Chiefs game.
Yes, not possible to get more than 4 tickets, and those may not have even been together. Still, it didn’t cost much for a ticket. Well, $50 as compared to $$$$ some pay for a game. I was at a meeting one time and a guy said his tickets were about $400/game, so to take his family of 5 was $2 grand before parking and hot dogs.
I guess we are lucky—season tickets cost less than the amounts you guys are talking about! Maybe that’s one of the benefits of only having a college football team. Haha!
Xfinity customers and movie lovers - check your xfinity rewards. I had one for a buy one/get one free movie ticket through fandango to see Oppenheimer! I just used it to purchase tickets for me and H on Saturday!
OUr college tickets have skyrocketed too because we have Coach Prime (Deion Sanders). They sold out season tickets in May, and now they’ve sold out the Nebraska and the USC games. I have a few friend who have season tickets and I think those have gone up too.
I need a new cable (lightning/USB-A) to charge my iphone at night on bedstand. The 3 foot braided cable I have worked fine until I discovered it has some kind of internal breakage. (The charging symbol comes and goes as I jiggle it… even when plugged in a different charging block). I’d consider the Apple cable, but$20 seems steep. Some of the Amazon options, even with the MFi (made for iphone/ipad etc) standard are multipacks so cheap I worry about their quality. And I only need one. For now… this happened a few years ago too.
@Colorado_mom up this. It’s a stand…and you just plug it in…and sit your cell phone on it to charge. No worry about the size of the connector or type of phone. We use it on both android and iPhone.
I don’t have one of those that @thumper1 listed, but we like Anker brand for our stuff. I have a few of their portable chargers and cables. They seem to last longer than the cheap stuff. We always get it on Amazon.
I’m not positive this is the exact one I have…but it’s like this…and it’s so very easy. You never are messing around with the cords to plug into the phone so less chance of them getting broken. We got a two pack…so DH and I would each have one.
I got a 5-pack on Amazon over 3 years ago for $10-12 and I think there are one or two we haven’t even touched yet. I won’t share a link because I’m sure products have changed since then, but I’d have no qualms about ordering there. I know the reviews can be gamed but you can probably get a sense of what people liked.
I buy a lot of my charging cables at TJ Maxx. They frequently have the Apple brand ones for cheap. I’ve bought junk ones at TJ Maxx but they seem to have higher quality than what I’ve found at Amazon. The off brand cheap charging cables at Amazon are often not that good.
