Colorado_mom- I’ve had good luck with these affordable cables from Amazon. They fit iPhone 12 too. They’ve worked longer and more consistently than the cheapie ones I’ve picked up at Target, the drugstore, etc.
I use Anker. They are they only ones with a sturdy reliable 10 ft cord I use for hard to reach outlets. I also use their portable ones. The most recent iPad Air has a new connection but they fit all the rest.
@Colorado_mom i don’t have a mini. But maybe check the Anker website. Really, these stands are so easy. No messing around with plugs into the phone…and you can have multiple types of connectors that can all be charged in this stand. We visited a friend and first used these, ordered them so they would be here when we got home. At the friend’s house, we had three different phones with three different connectors, and just placed them on the stand to charge. Easy peasy.
They work with my iphone and H’s android. We travel with them and they work great. I haven’t used a wired charger since we picked these up on sale one black Friday on Amazon.
Update - I had been convinced my cable was bad because when I flexed it the charging indicator symbol would come and go. But last night using a borrowed cable/plug, phone did not charge. Current theory is lint in lightning port was causing the problem… using a bent paper clip I did get a bit of lint out.
I regularly clean lint out of H’s phone with a toothpick.
OTH, I repaired a pair of my shorts with a patch which had gooey stuff residual. It managed to get into my iPhone port. I couldn’t get it all out (the residual stayed on the wire charger cord and I had to clean it with isopropyl each time) so, I ended up needing a wireless charger for my iPhone. The only place I could find one that would charge a iPhone X with a thin case was on the Apple site. I had no idea that I could use a wireless charger on an iPhone X. It works but slowly over night. We are waiting to update either with the 14 or 15…
Since Prime Day, I’ve been shopping online a lot (too much). I bought a new smoke detector since the battery went off on one of ours and I noticed it was more than 10 years old (expired). The new ones come with a battery and expire in 10 years.
Today some shoes from Tom’s arrived. Hippos and Hummingbirds. I don’t need these but I liked them and can’t resist a Tom’s sale. 70% off.
Last night I ordered a stick vacuum. I have no idea if I’ll like it or not, but it was 78% off on Prime, so it has to be good, right? At least it will work for the stairs.
I have to go to JoAnn’s fabric today because it is the last day for the 60% off coupon and I’m sure I need something! I went to a quilt guild meeting and was lusting after an Accuquilt cutter thing but I can’t afford that (those ladies have everything!) so will settle for a $22 binding strip iron thing @ 60% off.
Maybe I’ll win powerball and be able to afford the cutter.
I bought the same charger on Prime day. I have a belkin charger from Costco that I keep at home. This is for our 2nd home + travel. So far, so good. My AirPods are 1st gen so need to be plugged in to charge, but this is great for the iPhone and Apple Watch.
Costco had a good deal on belkin cords. For whatever reason, my iPad is being annoying and not always charging with any cord. I think it’s the iPad, not the cords. A couple of months, iPad or iPhone, I get the dreaded “accessory not supported.” Anker, belkin, Apple. Grrr. Cleaning the charging port brings no relief.
I got the email from Regal (and didn’t think about posting it! sorry but I’ll add the popcorn and a drink are also $4).
My question is should I see Oppenheimer in IMAX or regular? Same theater (although IMAX is only at 10:30 am or 9 pm(not happening). The reason I might like it in regular is I don’t like things really loud or zooming in or out. For example I don’t like 3D movies. But IMAX for $4 instead of $20 and if it is really good in IMAX?
Fun! We got tix for Golda but picked the Fathom First option which should be an interview with Helen Mirren and the producer, so it was a tad bit more (plus the junk fees). I think it was the matinee price but that’s still good! IT said it was 30% off, but a few $ total more (for 2 tix) than the simple $4 deal. All good.
We saw oppenheimer in the 70mm version (and DH got to go into the projection room. The holder for the film cannister was 5 ft tall and took several people to turn upright!). I’d do Imax if you can!
