My H would have loved that! He was a projectionist during most of the 1980s and early 90s.
By accident bought tickets in regular theatre- rather disappointing- so we bought for that night the Imax- WAY BETTER. Really no comparison- Loved it in Imax!
REI has 20% off 1 Yeti item for members. I know thatās a popular holiday gift brand so figured Iād post.
They are also having their Labor Day sale starting today.
LOL - I was coming here to also post about te REI Labor Day sale. We decided to drive to Denver, to the very large REI store. Used it as an excuse for a lunch date. It was crowded but fun.
Husband was hesitant to buy zip off hiking/travel pants, but they had his larger size in stock. Itās always great when you can try on an item. We were delighted to find them 30% off (sale price $55.89) when we got to the register.
Lots of sizes/colors available online

We also qualified for one item 20% off (we had left the catalog home, and now I see online onlyā¦ maybe there was another special). That was nice because he found a hooded puffy jacket he liked.
Funny - we are going to Italy next week and we need to pack for hot and cooler weather. I got those Sahara pants!
We have many of those things in the closet from older sās scouting days! Happy to recycle them!
At the thrift store I found something called a Quiltsmart pattern where the pattern is printed on interfacing and you just sew along the lines. It was $2, so I figured it was worth a try. I wasnāt even sure if the kit was complete, but again, $2.
Looked it up online and it costs $48 to order it from the company! It does have 2 spots that have to be fixed, but I think I can do that.
I got my hair cut for $31 today. I donāt think thatās happened since at least the 90s.
My new stylist told me last time that if I didnāt have it dried it would be cheaper. When I made the appt they asked what it was for and I said a cut. (It didnāt occur to me that I should say cut and dry or style). After she cut it she asked me if I wanted some curl stuff in it and I said āsure.ā So she put it in and said I was done. I felt a little funny, bc I normally get a blow dry, but I figured what the heck - and didnāt ask her to dry it.
I left her a nice tip in addition, but still the least expensive cut Iāve had in a LONG time.
8 posts were split to a new thread: What do you pay for hair styling?
Iām not sure if this is technically a āgood buyā but I recently got an email from bed bath & beyond/overstock.com telling me I had a $20 credit. I almost wrote it off as some kind of spam or marketing, but sure enough, apparently my old BB&B info transferred over to overstock and I had a legit $20 credit. Most of their stuff is way more than that, but I was able to order a travel mug to replace a old one that had lost its insulating properties, with a dollar or two left on my credit!
Went to Michaels to pick up one item and discovered that the summer stuff (bubble machines, hard rubber balls that have flashing lights in them, packs of sidewalk chalk in cute shapes, etc) for 90% off!! I needed to bring gifts to my friendās grandkids this weekend, and got them bubble machines for 99 cents!!! the balls and chalk were 39 cents! The most expensive thing I got was actually what I went into the store for. I had a 20% OFF coupon but it was still several dollars. Seemed expensive (it wasnāt) in comparison!
I havenāt shopped much except for house items since at least spring. Yesterday I had to drive out of town for an appt and because Iām always planning to arrive with plenty of time to spare, I was a good hour early.
Decided to stop and browse a Goodwill in a decently nice area. Found 3 great buys!!
- brand new W/tags Yeti coffee mug, $1.99
- Anne Taylor Loft heathered grey dress with 2 bug front pockets, with tags, $6
- green and white soft as can be floral sweater w/tags (canāt remember the brand) $4.
Fun finds that will ALL get used!
I know many of you have tried these and love them.
I have not yet tried them but want to and today they announced 1/2 off trial sizes.
Which ones to try?!
I use my Fajita seasoning often and I love their cinnamon.
These make good stocking stuffers! Though I admit I prefer buying the smallest JARS to sample spices - the little packets can be a mess to manage.
Thatās exactly what I was a little worried about with packets.
Maybe Iāll wait until Black Friday sales and just buy the small sample jarsā¦ā¦to avoid packet spills and messes!
H and I love their Florida Seasoned Pepper and their Chicken Taco Seasoning, but weāve enjoyed quite a few others as well.
Penzy fan here,
fox point MY fav ( one of best sellers ) roasted veggies, scramble eggs, fish, very versatile
Chili seasonings, I buy large bag,
Cinnamon - quality spice
Try their sample size to see if you like, the Greek salad dressing spices tasty.
Friends love pico de gallo,
Also, bay leaves are so large and fresh
Husband a big fan of Galena - for pork chops
Couple friends and I combine order, so they like different things,
Try to buy when shipping costs lower, and they offer deals.
Sandwich Sprinkle is our go-to for, er, sandwiches. Works great with tomato sandwiches up to monster subs with everything on 'em.
These are from my husband, the cook:
Galena Street rub, smoked Spanish paprika, gumbo file, sweet curry powder and any of their chile spices.
But I would wait for a gift card deal (they come around regularly) - get a $50 GC for $35 and spend it on Black Friday.
