Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 2)

I shop Penzey’s when they have a sale. My daughter puts Galena on every type of meat. Ones I use a lot of are Ancho chili powder, Italian herb, half sharp paprika,Mexican oregano. My other daughter loves the frozen pizza seasoning. For spices I use a lot of I buy the big bag and refill the jars. I also love the emails.

Potential money saving tip for online purchases!

Maybe I’m the last person on earth to know this trick…when shopping for something online, (especially on a computer - seems to work sporadically on my phone)…right click the image of the item you are looking at and choose “search image with Google” - this will bring up other online retailers selling the same item - and their price. Good way to often find items at better prices.

For instance I was looking to purchase this light for our foyer:
https://www.wayfair.com/lighting/pdp/wade-logan-asil-1-light-bowl-design-semi-flush-mount-light-w010007416.html

I right clicked, pulled up the image search and easily found it on sale at Lowe’s for $88 vs $122, Cha-ching!!!

I have lots of Penzey spices. I buy their gift cards on a sale $50 for $35, wait for a sale, sometimes with a bonus of your choice free, and then place an order and pay with gift cards. I prefer the small jars to packets and think the savings is better

How does shipping usually work with Penzey? I only ordered from there once, and I remember it being a great deal, but I can’t remember shipping.
Thanks

I considered putting this in the Covid vaccine thread, but it’s also a good deal. DH and I went for our flu shots today and besides being free, we each received a $20 cash reward coupon if we spend at least $1+. I bought a bag of Halloween candy for a couple of dollars and in return got $20 in cash rewards.

DH didn’t use his coupon yet (it’s good until 10/20) and we drive by this Walgreens frequently.

So we’ll spend about $6 and get $40. We plan on using the cash reward in the next 7 days so we don’t forget about it.

Good price for Covid tests.

Yes, the govt recently provided a set of new tests to each household again just last week, but these ones from Amazon are priced very well and with holidays approaching we anticipate testing ourselves before visiting elderly relatives.

Wow, I thought we did well at walgreens because we got one coupon with each of our 3shots—rsv, flu & covid—spend &1+ and get $10 credit. Between us we got 6 coupons and redeemed them so got $60 credit

Have gotten free shipping with as little as a $40 order. But not sure what the threshold is or if it was a deal in and of itself.

Walgreens is giving $20 cash reward coupons for shots through tomorrow, I believe. It’s a part of their “My W days”.

Love that, and tried it. I’m not looking for that particular lamp, but can you better explain the process? When I right click, there are several options, and I choose “search the web for images”. But the same lamp does not appear, only many other slightly different variations.

SO, I copy the image, paste onto my desktop, open Google Images, paste it from my desktop, and ‘voila’ it appears at numerous websites. I must be missing something. That seems far too labor intensive

They sometimes run shipping specials.

Are you using Chrome as your browser?

Search with an image from a website

  1. On your computer, go to the Chrome browser.
  2. Go to the website with the image you want to use.
  3. Right-click the image.
  4. Click Search Image with Google Lens to display results in a sidebar.

Cool! How do you do it on an ipad?

I can use google images on my iPad, so I’m guessing you can too?

Taking a picture of my 20ish year old kitchen cabinet knobs and searching saved me a couple hundred bucks when I found out I could still buy them (and I like them as well as any others).

This works best on my computer. I use Google as my search engine. Pull up a product page. RIght click and choose “search image with google” - or similar wording. The right side of the page then populates other places selling the same or very similar item - and shows the price at that vendor.

Zulily has Le Creuset on sale. Man, that stuff is expensive! But, still, just to let you know.

I bet that price includes “free” shipping! Last time I visited their outlet, I brought my husband with me. He got quite a weightlifting workout!

I picked up these Sony headphones for $120, when they’re normally $250. Sale ends tomorrow.
