yay, we should make a club, lol! i think my GC was sadder than i was.. i didn't really care.. if i had gotten in i would have gone and been happy. but getting rejected? i think it was for the best.. i don't know.. we'll see. i knew in the end it was CMU or cornell, even ED, i knew it was going to be one of them, and in the end i just chose cornell.. and since cornell rejected let's hope for the best on march 26 for cmu..</p>

<p>oh right i do. but i don't want to get my hopes up or anything. i have already been rejected from two schools now and i only applied to five total. maybe u of o, but i feel like my portfolio might be the reason for my rejections. but i guess i'll know soon enough.</p>

<p>My understanding is BArch is a 5 year degree that has been accredited by the NAAB and allows you to sit for the ARE exams, add some documented work experience and you can be licensed to practice.</p>
<p>The Bachelor of Science in Arch is not necessarily part of a 4 + 2. You may get the 4-yr BS degree, but to become licensed (registered), you would need to get a MArch from an Accredited program (possibly at a different school which you would need to apply and be accepted at). Check the NAAB website for accredited schools. You need to have either a BArch or MArch from one of the schools on their list of NAAB-accredited schools to get licensed. You also need to pass exams and serve an internship period (3yrs?)</p>
<p>ya, the scary part is re-applying for arch schools, say after 4 years you apply and get rejected from everywhere, thus you prety much wasted 4 years of your life.. to me a barch sounds safer..</p>
<p>Well, no as you still have a BS in Arch. Look careful at the BArch and MArch programs at any school you are considering. At least some require that you apply and qualify (grades, portfolio and recs.) for the fifth year. A good question to ask is what percentage of 4th year student apply for the 5th, and what percentage get in.</p>
<p>lori - i'm canadian. a citizen, and born there. i would be paying domestic fees so it was an amazing option financially.</p>
<p>bs and ba won't get you qualified for liscensing. barch will.</p>
<p>if you choose to get a bs or a ba, you're basically going to only be a drafter for a firm, or you're plannign to go to grad school for...whatever.</p>
<p>bs/ba will save you 1 year of tuition, but if you want a "fast" track to liscensing, go in barch.</p>
<p>every school differs though - some have a 4+2 bs+march, 5 year co-op bs/ba, 5 year barch, 5 1/2 bs+march...do your research on the required credits carefully :]</p>

damn, i've been rejected everywhere so far, except for general universities. guess i have to transfer into architecture later on, unless u of o takes me right away for architecture. <em>crosses fingers</em></p>
<p>i'm now thinking that if i don't get in to u of o, i will go to uc berkeley as a transfer, and get a ba or ba in arch studies or whatever, then a masters.</p>
<p>YEAH! ahah. well i would be a transfer. i don't know why i never applied?! i guess i wasn't into the whole b.a/b.s thing. and i thought poly was a sure thing. lol.</p>
