Wegmans: This is a grocery store on rt 13. It's kinda far and selection isn't great. But, its CHEAP. They are pretty big bastards about IDs though. Not so much that they're super strict, though they are pretty strict. If you come in with some friends, even if they aren't at the register with you when you pay, they will ask to see your friends IDs! If you go to this place, make sure everyone else stays in the car lol. But in general, I would avoid it.

If you have a car and a decent fake, Wegmans is great; it's where my friends and I get all our alcohol. Make sure everyone except the person with the fake stays in the car though.

In addition, the Wegman's chain has those awesome chalk signs.

People update those things every day....

Personally, I HATE southern girls

I'll have to agree with you on that. The New Orleans "blue bloods" really get under my skin. I've met a lot of girls down here who could use a swift kick in the butt.

[/quote]
But Dew, don't you think the guys from down there just have the dreamiest accents? :) I try not to judge Southerners by the tourists I've seen in NY or the people I saw in Louisiana, because then I'd think they're all morbidly obese and carry fanny packs (stop with the fanny packs guys!). But some Southern guys I've met in college are pretty hot with nice accents. As for the girls, i've seen a lot of spray tan bimbo types; I can't understand how these people manage to be slutty and religious Christians at the same time...it's a wonder. Overall, I prefer Northeastern guys because I feel I have more in common with them, but I like certain kinds of Southern accents. Some sound really nice but there's also a kind that really grates on my nerves (I think it's the carolina accent)

^ I think the girls also have nice accents. (new Orleans is specifically excluded from this...)

Well, of course the girls/guys would have the same accents if they grew up in a similar area...I don't know, some are really hot-sounding but others are so annoying. it sounds like they stuffed their mouths with fried grits and are trying to talk around it. i've heard some annoying accents up here in NY too, like the Brooklyn/Bronx accents sound atrocious, but those are endearing to me because I grew up listening to them.

...And in other news.....while GirlTalk is scheduled to come to Cornell....

They're closing the Physical Sciences library, shutting Olin down for three semesters (sorry grad students) and booking......the pussycat dolls.......for Slope Day.

What the hell, Skorton?

In all honesty....the accent is not big in New Orleans. I've met people who've lived here their entire life and have no accent.

Personally...the Southern accent is a major turnoff for me. Especially when I'm in the grocery store and hear a guy with a drawl talking about how it sucks that he can't get moonshine in the grocery store.

Terrible Decision

^^I know!!!!

I was thinking about flying to NYC and driving up to Ithaca with my buddies for Slope Day....definitely not going now.

Frankly, I don't think the responsibility falls upon Skorton for the PussyCat dolls.

florida girls are waaay hotter than the girls here. I kind of expected that, but the cornell goggles add at least +2 possibly +3 on a 1-10 scale, depending on what region of the US you are from. I miss pretty much everything about home...thankfully it is finally warming up a little bit.

And dewdrop, the southern accent varies heavily by state and even city. People from LA might have the worst which is why I am not surprised you are turned off by the people in NOLA. I know a lot of people in atlanta with no accent, but my extended family from cities within 45 minutes of atlanta have pretty strong accents.

^ I assumed the University President has some say in the booking.

You think so? I think Arkansas and Mississippi are the worst...my experience coming from hanging out with a bunch of people from said states during New Year's Eve celebrations.

Then again....I'm not a happy drunk and everything annoys me when I've had too much to drink.

Hermanns, I honestly think the reason you think Cornell girls aren't as hot as the girls back in Florida is not due to regional differences between NY and Florida - it's not like all the girls from NY look alike and all the Florida girls look alike, Americans don't have a common ethnic heritage and are physically very diverse all over. It's probably cause Cornell is full of smart girls and lets be honest, the chance of a girl being really hot and smart is rare. Go to a party school in the Northeast and you'll find plenty of hotties. It's because you go to an Ivy that you're not seeing them. That's not to say there aren't tons of hot smart girls at elite schools, but the quality of women at Cornell will be different from back in Florida State U where everyone is tan and wearing their tube tops and miniskirts in March.

Now that's not true. The only women I find hot are smart.

hahaha...that reminds me of the time that a couple of guys I know who are med students told me that, compared to what they see in their classes, I look like playmate of the year.

I dunno...I prefer intelligence over looks...to an extent ;)

Yeah I know what you guys mean since i'm not attracted to a guy unless he's somewhat smart as well as cute, but we're talking about just physical attraction here. Saying Florida girls are waaaay hotter than everywhere else doesn't really make sense to me, it's not like they all look alike and different from the girls over in Arkansas. But they're probably tanner and wear less clothes than girls up in NY.
