your input on some safeties for me?

Hi there! Well, I'm a rising senior, and I'm not going to lie, my list currently includes 16 schools, just one of which is ASU (my in-state); the other 15 range from Penn (Wharton) to USC; Harvard to UMich... And in between, one liberal arts school (CMC). As you can tell, the only thing tying these schools together is an extremely low admissions rate for an OOS or otherwise.

I'd really like to explore some schools that I could consider as "safeties".

Some quick stats:
4.0 GPA, 11/699 in rank (10 valedictorians)
2250 SAT (780 CR, 780 M, 690 W); 790 Chinese, 800 Math II, 750 Spanish
AP classes taken, or will take (I took exams for all): English Lang, Chem, APUSH, Spanish Lang, Calc BC, Psych, Gov, Macroecon, English Lit, Stats. 6 Junior year.
Asian female from Arizona
Captain in Speech and Debate, founded a club, Vice-President of Youth in Government, on the Student Body Council for senior year, violinist in community orchestra, volunteer at a center for autistic kids, and oh, congressional intern.

I'd like to go to undergrad B-school but it's possible that I'll change majors to Economics, Political Science, and/or International Relations in college.

I'm very outgoing and friendly; I'd feel comfortable getting to know a small group of people or meeting new people every day at a big university. I've traveled all over the US and have no big preferences on where to live.

Finding new colleges seems so daunting to me... help me out? :-) Thanks!

you would be a very strong candidate for the better southern state schools like UNorth Carolina or UVirginia. Could be a good match if you like big greek scenes.

MissB, Michigan and USC (which are on your list) are practically safeties. I would be seriously surprised if you did not get into both, possibly with merrit scholies.

WashU Business is much more predictable than the normal school, so you'll get in (not that waitlisting crap they do for over-qualified).
That's a good safety.

Many of the smaller LACs in the midwest would be good safeties if you're interested in moving there. Examples are Denison, Ohio Wesleyan, Earlham, Wooster. Good matches would include Macalester, Kenyon, Beloit.

Thanks... good part is some of the schools you mentioned are in fact already on my list. :-) Any others?

I would say that USC is a safety. You should have no problem. For somebody with your stats the key is to apply to a decent number of match schools. This way, the chance that you do not get into any of them is extremely low. While Harvard and Wharton are reaches and USC and UMich are on the safe side, if you apply to schools like Duke, Dartmouth, UChicago, Northwestern, and Cornell you should definitely get accepted to a few.

University of Santa Clara would be a good safety for you. You might also consider Trinity University in San Antonio and Bucknell in PA. Your profile sounds so much like a Claremont McKenna student. I think you would be very happy there, probably happier than back east.

10 valedictorians!

Colgate or Holy Cross-both very good LAC'S. Holy Cross is 1 hour from Boston and has very strong alumni network in business community.

NYUUUUU :D (stern of course)

Ooh thanks. I haven't looked into Santa Clara or the LACs (maybe Santa Clara is an LAC, I have no idea!) yet but I definitely will now. :-)

WUSTL isnt a safety.

Yeah I know, it's already on my list behind Penn and Georgetown... I will apply and see what happens.
