Excited about learning- University of Chicago and Swarthmore.

I know Vassar College in New York has that vibe. The campus is beatiful, too. It’s an official arboretum.

MIT/Caltech, Johns Hokpins

Kalamazoo and the College of the Atlantic were by far the first two I thought of.

[Kalamazoo College](http://www.kzoo.edu/)

[College of the Atlantic](http://www.coa.edu/index.htm)

Kalamazoo requires service learning and has the highest per capita placement rate to the Peace Corps of any college.

COA is…well, unique. It caters to a very creative and intrinsically driven individual.

Princeton Review does not have a list of the academic ratings. You have to search for a particular college and then click the “academic tab” on the college’s profile, then it will give you their academic ranking.

Harvard - 99
Princeton- 98
Holy Cross -98
Yale- 95
MIT- 97
Stanford- 99
Columbia- 96
Duke- 91
U Chicago- 97
Dartmouth- 96

Definitely Grinnell-a reputation for some of the hardest working students, but also as a producer of Phds, which to me, implies a genuine interest in the subject areas. Also, that unpretentious midwestern vibe is part of the campus DNA.

George Washington University
Boston University
Duke University
University of California- Berkeley
Yale University or Princeton University ?
University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign ( in addition to other things, that impression grew learning about the school annual Quad day)
Syracuse University
American University

Those are a few of the schools that come to thought of highly motivated.
