are there anythings that stand out in this that speak to you as to why i was deferred?

Well, your CR score sticks out like a sore thumb, at least to me. It's really not all that bad, but it's lower than Georgetown's average enough to tip the scale. The average CR score, by the way, hovers around a 700, I think.

They also might've thought that your EC's weren't varied enough, again, your EC's are, in general, fairly good, but they aren't spectacular.

Like you said, though, I wouldn't dwell on it. You're going to go to a good school.

ya i really didnt want to send in my sat cuz my act looks way better imo but i needed my sat2's
still kinda bummin im not one of these super kids that does every activity known to man kind... in other words i actually have somewhat of a life besides getting into college. but this still hurts......
i take it you got in or are already past this whole dang process

don't worry sweetheart, i am also a bit bummed, but i deserved to be deferred, cuz I didnt submit my SATII's...remember though, Georgetown is extremely competitive, and by the stats listed, its starting to look like a Stanford or UPenn....

No, I'm actually still waiting on my results, but I'm getting more and more convinced that I'm going to get deferred. I REALLY, desperately want to attend, but I guess we'll see.

ya this was my number one school but i still have boston college to hear back from for ea and i think my chances there are better. i am still a little sad, but im trying to tell myself that its not a no yet and that there are tons of other schools that i would be very happy at. but its still frustrating that gtown only admits those super kids that do everything. it just seems that a lot of those kids dont do those activities for themselves or because its what theyre passionate about but they do them because it will get them into a good college. errr haha

i got deferred too.

from the early results thread, with a few exceptions, it looks like the people who were accepted had at least one really important volunteer activity or unusual extracurricular that would throw them ahead of the curve. your application looks really strong, like i thought mine did, but i don't think either of us had a really amazing non-academic experience to stand out on our applications.

my guess: come time for regular decision when that kind of hook isn't so important, you'll get in. :D

Your SATs was only a 1400, not a 2100.

The thing is, I don't see a definite hook that sets you apart from everyone else, but you were deferred so there's still a chance. Good luck!

Getting in EA without at least 700+ on all SAT sections and Top 5% class rank is very, very hard. Don't sweat it.

^Really? Would an 800 and 650-680 be viewed in the same way as two 700-730's?

Depends on the individual person reading the application. With EA, so many applicants are over the 700 mark and the top 5% that it's hard to get in with anything much below 700. These are just generalizations but remember, if there's any doubt in the reader's mind with EA, its a deferral.

ya i knew i was lacking in the ec category. i thought the summer things woulda helped me a little cuz they are both centered on what i want to major in slash do (spanish and biochem)
but ya i really didnt want to send in my sat score cuz of the 630 in reading, but i needed my sat 2s, if gtown didnt require sat2's do you think my act score alone woulda been better? oh and my school doesnt rank so im guessing a ballpark wiht the ten percent.. i have no idea, but oh well still regular decision and plenty more colleges to apply to now
