Deferred... What now?

I just found out that I've been deferred and I'm absolutely heartbroken. Georgetown is, and always will be, my top choice. What do I do now to show my continued interest in the school? I'm done with standardized tests so what else can I send them?

Here are my stats:

Can someone shed some light onto this situation? I'm really upset and want to do whatever I can to improve my chances on getting in RD!

Definitely reiterate your interest and keep up your grades this year. But short of winning some sort of major award or being published, I think the best thing you can do would be to consider retaking your SATs. They do accept January test scores. I have the same reading and math as you and was deferred as well and I’m retaking in January. It’s pretty depressing having to take them again but I think boosting the math score into the 700’s can make a difference.

Honestly you seem like the perfect candidate for Georgetown! I have no idea why you were deferred. I have always been in love with Georgetown as well (Yale and Georgetown are my top choices) but you are such a better candidate than I am! I was also deferred and it physically hurt when I opened that letter last Saturday. I’m sorry about getting deferred but I am sure you will get in for RD!

@TickettoRide‌ I don’t think I can take the January SAT so I guess I’ll just hope for the best :-/ good luck to you too!

@skz117‌ Thank you! I know how upset you feel, I’m the same way :frowning: I hope you get in too!! I’m sure your stats are impressive if you’re looking at schools like Georgetown and Yale!! Good luck :)
