Your Rutgers Status Question

Hi all, I got all my application materials in to Rutgers on 9/27, and I believe that all the required credentials are in. I'm just wondering how long it typically takes for acceptance to be posted because I know I'm getting in to SAS New Brunswick, but I just want to see for myself. How long did it take for you to hear back?

Also, I heard that the page typically updates every night--is this true, or am I wasting my time with checking often at night?

I also got my application materials in on 9/27, so I’m wondering the same thing. I’ve heard that we should hear back within a week by other students who applied this early last year. They also said that Rutgers does update the site at night, so I check each morning to avoid checking TOO much. Again, this is all just speculation… Hopefully someone else can help us!

I sent my application in on 8/23 and I still haven’t heard anything :</p>

Oh wow that’s disappointing… well I guess I can stop checking so often! Thanks for the heads up.

Yah… :frowning: I guess maybe they haven’t started reviewing applications yet. I’ll post here if I hear any news though.

Last year my son sent his (completed) application in around mid-October and he heard back in 2 days. It should take less than two weeks if you have a strong application and you get it in early (by early I mean October. September is way early).

My other son applied about 3 years ago and I think it took about 2 weeks. He also applied mid to late October.

I sent my application in last year in December and heard back in 5 days.

Same thing as RUrahrah, legitimately sent in my App on the first of December, got accepted into Engi/Sas/Sebs 5 days later. o.o
Give it some time. They’re probably wanting more applications to roll in before they start making any decisions or something, so no need to stress. Save that for when you’re figuring out how to pay for it. :)

Has anyone heard back? It says everything I have sent was received through 10/1 but I sent it in probably a week before that at least. I applied to Arts and Sciences and Engineering.

I also see that it says all requirement were fulfilled on 10/01 but still haven’t heard back. Has anyone else, yet?

DS’ status was just updated this evening. He was accepted to SOE, SAS, and RBS. No mention yet of honors or scholarships, but I assume that comes later.

Key facts:
All materials in as of 10/9
NJ Resident
ACT 34
GPA 3.97W (AP Scholar)

He’s at work … trying to think of some clever way to get him to check his status when he gets back. RU is his #1 choice of the 12 schools on his short list. We’re thrilled for him.

Accepted to the school of criminal justice!
Submitted application 9/23/12
GPA 3.65 UW
ACT 31

probably no scholarships coming, but fingers are crossed!

Accepted today…GPA 4.2 ACT 32

App submitted 9/2 but have not heard back yet; applied to both nursing an business school. Could it be because I indicated I am taking (took) the SATs again October and they are waiting for that score?

Accepted to School of Environmental and Biological Science and to School of Arts and Sciences! 4.22 GPA, 2140 SAT

No word on School of Engineering or scholarships, but still happy.

Scholarship announcements are sent out sometime in December.

How were you informed? Did they email you saying your status has been updated or did you just happen to go on and check?

I logged in and checked my status - I didn’t get an email.
Got into Ernest Mario! feels good man, especially since this is the first (hopefully not last) college I’ve gotten into!

I received an email saying “Congratulations” in the title and then checked my online account which once again said congratulations. I’m assuming that admitted means I’m in and accept now is to enroll (correct me if I’m wrong someone haha). I submitted everything by 9/23. When should we hear about honors and scholarships?

Got into SAS at NB still waiting on RBS at NB, what chances do i have to get into the business school after getting into the sas?

W GPA- 3.78
SAT- 1740
