I selected mine by just trying to think of something related to education. And I remembered one of my favorite songs had a line : “The hardest to learn is the least complicated”. It’s by the Indigo Girls.

Was in Berkeley College at Yale and went to law school at UC Berkeley. Told everyone I chose Berkeley law because I would not have to buy new school gear.

Love the Indigo Girls and Harriet the Spy. My oldest was a math guy hence the name. I like math in theory, but in practice I’m only middling good at it. Got an A in calculus, but never went further. Did have lots of fun homeschooling/enriching (just for math) my math kid. Of course I didn’t think about the fact that my next kid was not mathy at all. (Or rather he was very good at math, but so bad at arithmetic and memorization, that he was somewhat handicapped.)

Mine… I was working in a small biotech company while our youngest was college searching and came across CC. The day I registered here, we were cleaning the lab, and someone asked if anyone wanted to keep this “old Bunsen burner.” Lol. The name was born! I am old, and burners are hard to flame. So! ?

When I joined the forum way back when I was college planning for my 2nd child, who was very smart but difficult- and still is!
I can not always tell someone’s gender from their screen name. Sometimes the xmom or mom200kids helps me out.
Not that it matters, but I do try to visualize many of you because it feels like an extended friend group to me.
I do try to figure it out based on perspectives and writing styles. But boy there have been a few times that I’ve painted a picture and then some post comes out and I was 100 percent wrong. It’s mildly disorienting for a while. lol.
