I think it's interesting knowing what people's worst fears are. Mine is definitely ants; anytime I see one, I get really scared and if there is a line or group of them, I freak out uncontrollably and will scream. It then feels as if they are crawling all over me and I shake and wave my arms around uncontrollably as if to "get them off of me." Yeah... I believe the fear of ants is called "myrmecophobia."

I hate anything that’s grotesque looking and MOVING. I can dissect a pig in AP Biology with no problem, but when you put a moving worm in front of me I freak out. I was shucking corn for dinner today and there was a gray worm lodged in one of the ears…yeah, I threw it out.

I’m also terribly afraid of the dark, but only when it’s dark and quiet.

Fear of being rejected by peers/friends/acquaintances. My biggest one is parties. I have a fear of people talking about parties and me not being invited.

Spiders (except dwarf spiders and tarantulas, oddly)… Also crane flies, since they basically look like flying spiders.

Strangers, especially middle aged men that I don’t know that are alone and look scary…

Loud noises annoy me greatly, and I react to them as I would if I were scared of them, although I’m not really scared of loud noises…

Death of a loved one… but I’m sure everyone would be “scared” of this, and it’s not really the same type of fear as my other ones.
There you have it.

My worst fears are heights, spiders, death, bad grades, not getting into a good college, being kidnapped, getting fat, and going on roller coasters. The list goes on.

I am also uncomfortable with heights, am afraid of getting in trouble in general, the dark (or furthermore, what can happen because of things I can’t see) and I have a fear of open spaces.

Also when I was younger I was very afraid that burglars would try to break in. I would booby trap my room, surround myself with stuffed animals, and go to sleep with a baseball bat in my hands with a flashlight nearby.

drowning,
getting raped then having my body or remains cut up into pieces so no one would ever find me
small spaces
hell
getting old
getting ugly
getting fat,
cockoroaches,
centipedes…any insect really
having a kid with special needs

But at the moment one of my more realistic fears is:

never getting married and being all alone in this world with no family or friends.

“Someone once told me the definition of Hell: The last day you have on Earth, the person you became will meet the person you could have become.”

I’m scared that when I grow old, I’ll look back on my younger days in futility and despair, wondering what I would’ve been like if I hadn’t quit this or that, worked harder, etc.
Think about it for a second… when you’re old, crippled, and your life has gone by, realizing what you could have been and feeling deep remorse, but there’s nothing you can do except feel regret. I think that’s much scarier than spiders, snakes, whatever.

My language arts teacher from last year was afraid of little people (i.e. Mini-Me height). I think the dark might be mine, but hornets, bees, etc. are in the same boat.
