Wow. Unexpected. I love JKR!

Wow. That's really interesting, though.

I've never pictured him as Gay. That just ruined my entire perception of him, lol. I imagined him as something sompletely different. But I like my version more :)

Holy crap! Well, that changes everything...
Well, Book 7 changed everything anyway, so I guess I wouldn't expect less of him. :)

Wha-what?/********/ Awesome.

That's so cool :)

omg|!!!!!!!!!

That's...superfluous. Not a bad thing, though. Just pointless.

Haha. I just made a thread about this without realizing that this one already existed.

Well, think of it in context: his defeating Grindelwald, his involvement with him despite his evilness, etc. It really adds depth to Dumby's character and explains his motives.

Woah, I can actually see him as gay. He was really nice.

Ever see the Potter Puppet Pals sketches on Youtube? This may clarify things...

Also bear in mind that this was not included in the books, she was answering a question someone asked her about why Dumbledore wasn't married or something. Sure, it's superfluous, but that's why it didn't show up in the books.

As far as the fact itself goes though, I think it's awesome. Too bad that the fundamentalists will latch onto it as yet another anti-christian thing though...Heaven forbid a children's book teach children about tolerance!! (Sarcasm)

^ They'll be after you next.

The whole thing about Dumbledore being gay really isn't that surprising. Thinking back on the series, he seemed to always show more of an affinity to men than women, and he was never married. However, saying that he's gay is putting it a little too harshly. Obviously, I didn't write the series, but that's just my thought.

I don't understand why she just came out and said that. I think it is unnecessary, as it has absolutely nothing to do with the books or the plot.

Although I always thought he was a homosexual, or at least had homosexual tendencies.

She didn't just come out and say it randomly. Someone asked her a question, and it related:

**Kid asking ?:* Did Dumbledore, who believed in the prevailing power of love, ever fall in love himself?

JKR: My truthful answer to you... I always thought of Dumbledore as gay. [ovation.] ... Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was. To an extent, do we say it excused Dumbledore a little more because falling in love can blind us to an extend, but he met someone as brilliant as he was, and rather like Bellatrix he was very drawn to this brilliant person, and horribly, terribly let down by him. Yeah, that's how i always saw Dumbledore. In fact, recently I was in a script read through for the sixth film, and they had Dumbledore saying a line to Harry early in the script saying 'I knew a girl once, whose hair...' [laughter]. I had to write a little note in the margin and slide it along to the scriptwriter, "Dumbledore's gay!" [laughter]*

Giving the Fundamentalist Christians some more ammunition, no doubt. Although, dare I say, she is brilliant.

As for me, I don't think the books are corrupting. I just think they're stupid.

I read a very interesting article called 12 reasons why NOT to read HP or watch the movies. I think that amoung the reasons was something about Homosexuality, and acceptance of magic or something like that...I forget :)
