zoology anyone?

My daughter is graduating in equine science in the spring. She has decided to attend another school to pick up a bachelor's in zoology. What are the career opportunities for zoology if one is not using it as a stepping stone to vet school or med school?

This site has been VERY iinformative!! :D She realizes she may have to take some zoology courses to get to where she wants to go - as of right now - but we shall see :)

Though it was years ago I graduated with a BS in zoology from one of the UC campuses. I and several of my cohorts ended up working in the toxicology department of a large pharmaceutical corporation. Many went on to get MBAs as well and work for other departments in the company. Was very rewarding work both financially and intellectually.

Thanks for the above posts. This is an area about which I know absolutely nothing, so all this information helps.

csleslie, it's good to hear you were able to support yourself ;). That always makes a mom feel better.

not only supported myself but helped put my husband through grad school. many of my coworkers were able to buy homes in the bay area (albeit this was in the late 70s/early 80s, but prices were still high then.)
