I am a first year Computer Science major at Case, and so far I would recommend it. First semester, I took EECS 281 (Logic Design & Computer Organization) and I’m now taking EECS 233 (Data Structures). I’ve learned loads from both classes. Both are/were fairly large (around 100 students), but it’s easy to stand out if you sit near the front and attend office hours. Subsequent CS classes will definitely be smaller. Also, Case is adding a Data Science major next year [1], so you’ll be able to take some classes there or double major if that’s where your interests lie. Overall, I’ve heard that Case’s CS degree is highly theoretical, but it’s still easy to get internships (I myself have one lined up for the summer).

Outside of class, there are two student-run groups that I’d recommend to any CS major. Our chapter of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) hosts a conference every year. This year we had speakers from Google and Microsoft, among others [2]. Hacker Society is a group that gives tech talks every Wednesday night. The speakers are usually students, but also include alumni and local business leaders. You can see their past talks here [3].
