Australian vs American schools

I’m considering applying to the university of Sydney. I really like Australia and they are great for vet school. What are some of the differences between Australian and American universities?

Where are you from?

What is your budget?

What do you want to study?

Where do you want to live after you graduate?

Is it even possible for non Australians to apply to Australian vet schools?
I thought you needed an ATAR score.
For a BsMD you need an ACT 36 and there are further criteria.

yes it is possible the University of Sydney also has a program where vet school and undergrad is combined so that it is only 6 years to graduate instead of 8. You can apply with SAT score.

I am from Hawaii. My parents looked at the University of Sydney tuition cost for International students and they said it would work. I want to get into their 6 year program (vet and undergrad combined) I am not sure where I want to live after I graduate but I do want to be a wildlife vet and travel.

You may want to take into account the likelihood (or near certainty, in my view) that you won’t be able to enter Australia in the fall next year (and perhaps beyond).

My daughter is considering Univ of Sydney or Univ of NSW too, for health sciences. Her dad is Australian though we live in NY. From what I understand, it is more focused on the majors compared to US liberal arts type schools. Grades are based on 1 or more major exams. Campus life might be different too, but I’m not sure how.
