International students financial aid

Hi all!
I am an international senior student interested in Scripps college. I wanted to ask if there are any international students here that got a great deal of financial aid as I need a scholarship that would cover all the expenses of tuition, room and board costs. My estimated family contribution won’t be more than $1000.
Thanks in advance

You may want to move this to the Scripps forum… or is your question actually about Wellesley?

Regardless, getting financial aid as an international is very competitive. Also realize that even at schools that offer financial aid to internationals, there will be out-of-pocket expenses that must be paid personally: travel, health insurance ($3000++), books and other personal expenses. Have you discussed with your family how to cover those costs?

Did you apply early decision to Scripps? Your tags are Wellesley and early decision….but your post is about Scripps. Or id you apply ED to Wellesley? Please clarity.

Also, you can’t get any aid unless you are accepted. So are you a very strong applicant? Scripps is need aware for admissions so your level of financial need will be considered when your application for admission is considered. Wellesley too.

The cost of attendance at Scripps is $77,000 a year or so…and that cost likely doesn’t include required health insurance. This is from the Scripps website:

Scholarships

International first-year applicants are eligible for scholarships ranging from $15,000 to $28,000 annually, and the highest award is the James E. Scripps Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded to applicants whose strong academic performance and school or community involvement indicate that they will add vitality and intellectual value to our campus. Scripps does not require an earlier deadline for scholarship consideration. Merit scholarships are only available to first-year applicants.

Need-based Financial Aid for International Students

Financial assistance for international applicants is limited. Financial aid for international students is only awarded at the time of admission. Your aid offer will be renewed each year for up to 8 semesters as long as you enroll full time and make Satisfactory Academic Progress toward your degree. Financial aid is not re-evaluated for international students. Since your EFC is fixed upon admission, your financial aid award in future years will adjust slightly with the change in cost of attendance. The CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE is required for international students who wish to be considered for financial aid.
