Part time model for a major modelling agency. Should i put that in the Common App

I am a part-time model signed with one of the major modeling agencies. Should i put that on my common app. I am focused in STEM and think this may hurt my chances.

Yes, you should list it in your application. It will not hurt your chances or make you seem like less of a serious STEM student. If anything, it will make you a more dynamic and memorable applicant to the adcoms. There are thousands of STEM focused students applying to college, but very few who double as models

I think listing it on the common app will play to your advantage, but even if I’m wrong, there is almost no chance that it will be detrimental. Modeling is work experience, and it’s very common for students to list any jobs they’ve held in the EC section. It shows maturity and initiative that you have worked professionally.

Best of luck on your college admissions, and congrats on getting picked by a reputable agency!

It’s a job which is great but play around with it and see if you can work it into the essay only if you can be clever about it. Like work ethic, determination, being able to take critique and moving forward. Responsibility, Leadership and how it will apply to your stem major.

My son had a unique side business and was able to work it into his essay. It worked out great. Your doing something different, unique and personal and interesting. Use it to your advantage to separate yourself.

At least do a outline and see if it works.

Good Luck
