What Colleges Can I Get A Full Ride To With Tuition And Room & Board

GPA;3.611 Unweighted Weighted is 3.9
SAT:1260

I cannot answer your question due to your low SAT score & low uwGPA. However, schools like the University of Alabama main campus, the Univ. of Alabama- Huntsville & the University of South Carolina should offer guidance on scholarship qualification on their websites.

To get a “full ride” you usually need top grades and test scores. You may get some merit scholarship money plus need-based aid if you qualify at several universities but “full ride” probably close to impossible.

UC Berkeley for Mechanical Engineering:
https://www.me.berkeley.edu/undergraduate/admissions/drake-scholarship

Full ride scholarships that include room and board have become very rare and are reserved for students with perfect test scores and flawless GPA’s or recruited athletes. You might earn need-based aid depending on your financial situation, and some scholarships if you are a URM (under represented minority). Otherwise you’ll just get access to some loans. Things have become extremely competitive.

Those scholarships listed in posts 4 and 5 are likely for students with TOP stats. The OP wouldn’t qualify

@1Day2BDoc your stats are too low to get free rides at any school except maybe a rather unknown directional.

Please tell us more about your situation. Your intended major and career goal

@mom2collegekids: I listed them so the OP can research and find out for themselves that these are very competitive and require top stats.

@Gumbymom the OP stats are not competitive for the NSP scholarship at Clemson , maybe not even merit depending on class rank.

OP’s best hope is with need-based aid. Unfortunately most need-blind schools are above his stats. I would suggest the least expensive education would be community college and a transfer to a state school after two years.

@carlinamom2boys: I personally think OP is not competitive for any of the scholarships I listed. I just wanted to give OP an idea of what scholarships are available and research what kind of high stats are required for a full ride. I think many times posters need to find out for themselves and not to be told they are “not competitive”.

Run the net price calculator on the college websites.

Lycoming College, Geneva College, Susquehanna University, Youngstown State University are pretty generous with merit and need based aid.

Also try applying to instate public schools where your stats are in the top 75% of applicants.

I think formulating a long list of scholarships that are clearly not viable options is not helpful and somewhat cruel @Gumbymom . This student asked a legitimate question and was looking for guidance. There was no sense of arrogance that we sometimes see on CC.
