Possibility of full ride?

Are there any schools not already mentioned in the popular threads where a 1410 CR+M SAT could get me a full ride? I'm looking for a school anywhere in the U.S. outside of Alaska (where I live) for nursing. My unweighted GPA is 3.97 and I'm in the top 5% of my class. Only a full tuition or full ride would make it possible to go out of state, so please help me out if you have any suggestions!

Many colleges and universities have been known to award occasional full tuition and/or full ride scholarships for any number of reasons. However, those sorts of things are hard to predict. You can apply all over the place, and see if you get lucky.

But if you want the best chance of actually getting a full tuition or full ride, stick with the information in those “popular threads” at the top of the Financial Aid Forum.

Try Pittsburgh & Alabama. I heard from some parents last year that their kids got full rides there. Don’t know about nursing though (not implying anything negative: I mean I just don’t know whether that’s available, and well-funded).

This is taken from University of Alabama’s website, but keep in mind you will still have housing costs: Presidential Scholar

I have looked at Pittsburgh and Alabama. They are still possibilities but I’m not sure if I will apply. I don’t know if I’d be eligible for full tuition or full ride at Pittsburgh if they want 1450, although I’m still considering applying just to see what happens. I’ve also heard great things about nursing there so I have to keep that in mind.

Alabama does have a great scholarship and I’m still considering applying. I’m just not sure if the school itself would be a great fit for me - too big, too far south. But I’m pretty upon to anywhere if I can leave alaska so I need to think about it more.

I haven’t looked into Louisiana tech so I will do that! Thanks

The 1410 will hurt you at Pitt, but they also want students from every state. Could go either way at Pitt.

Have you tried Tulane? They might be one of those unusual schools that offer tuition to unusual people.
