Extra Curriculars: - 3 poetry publications from reputable teen magazines - worked as a journalist at a startup music website submitting and publishing lots of articles reporting about concerts and reviewing albums and doing in depth song analysis - 6 years of tennis (usually out of school so no varsity) - Accepted into the Stanford Young Writer’s Program and the Kenyon Young Writer’s Workshop (numbers 3 and 2 in the country respectively for literary summer programs) - Percussionist in band for 6 years - 2 summers spent doing research at a medical lab down at UPenn with graduate students - winter track and field for 4 years - foreign exchange trip to China (I take ap Chinese at my school) - worked in a writing group with college kids down at UPenn’s Kelly Writer’s House

Recs (out of 10): - writing mentor (9.5): my mentor is a published author and has watched and helped me grow and become the writer I am today. - 11th grade English teacher (8.5) - 11th grade math teacher (9): I started out w a C in the class and ended up with an A-. She’s talking all about my journey to getting my grade on track and all that fun stuff.

Relatives: - My cousin went to nyu but besides for that nothing

I sent in a short writing portfolio to NYU along with my application with pieces approved by a reasonably famous poet who taught me at Stanford

I wouldn’t need any financial aid.

Admissions officer knows i wanted to go ed1 but couldn’t because of certain conditions (my counselor called and put in a good word)

I would say you have pretty solid chances
