Hey everyone! At my high school, we’re picking classes for sophomore year, and I’m thinking of doubling up on science. In order to do that, I’d have to take a 0 period, though. Essentially my schedule would be →
Chemistry P
English 10 Honors
Spanish 3 Honors
AP World History
Dance 1
AP Biology
Algebra II Honors
I’ve heard AP Bio is a difficult class though, which is why I’m a bit nervous to take it AND chemistry next year. However, I do want to take AP Chem junior year, and I probably wouldn’t be able to take it w/o taking Chem P. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks so much!
Why do you especially want to take AP chemistry junior year? Why not take physics regular and chemistry honors junior year, and AP chem senior year?
Don’t take AP bio until after Pre-Ap chem. As a student in that class it is a really bad idea. Taking physics before/during pre-ap chem is more advisable than that but I’d still advise against it. IMO take AP Bio+ AP chem/ physics junior year and the other senior year. AP Bio is not an easy class but definetely easier than AP chem or physics.
Don’t take AP Bio unless you can self-study chemistry concepts.
@MYOS1634 I could totally take AP Chem senior year come to think of it. It’s just that the majority of students at my school take Pre-AP chem sophomore year. So, I assumed it would be better to take AP Chem right after to ensure all the content stays fresh in my brain— if that makes any sense at all!
Thank you all so much for your feedback! I’m definitely taking it into consideration and I truly appreciate it!
