Have any 09ers heard about who’s living in what dorm? I’m impatient.

word is they're sent out Aug. 1st.

09 LiveJournal community linked to the CC conversation last year-- first sightings were Aug 2, which would coincide with the Aug 1 mailing (those coming back with assignments were nearly exclusively North East, with the furthest south being the Philly area (i believe).

I CAN'T WAIT. aug 1st, i c. that means i'll get mine about 5-6 days after that. maybe my roomie will be from the east coast and get hers before them. maybe she'll contact me before i get mine! cool... EXCITING!

Ooh! I didn't think of that! Score! I get my Brown mail later, too (though not as late as yours I'm sure. I would say you got the better end of the deal though: late mail and fun in the sun vs. early mail and no fun in the sun).

Does anyone know if we can call in on the 1st (er... later today....)?

Good Idea! Im certainly gonna try!

I think they will likely be slightly annoyed if you do, just a warning. But I could be wrong.

I just called ResLife...

Tara: Hi, Im an incoming freshman and I was wondering if I could learn my housing assignment over the phone.

ResLife Lady: You'll be finding out within the next 2 weeks.

Tara: But when specifically are you mailing them out?

ResLife Lady: This week.

Thats all I really ascertained, which is basically nothing more than I knew already...

How are people assuming that theyll be sent out today?

I am sure they hate this question by now. Bah, I just want to find out. This is almost as bad as waiting for decisions to be mailed...

We should be glad we aren't going to Stanford-- yes, they start on September 26th but they only learn their roommate upon knocking on their door.

Then again, I just want to know where my door is...

hvghjsafjhsakjhi the pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That Stanford format is nuts. I plan on coordinating with my roomie as to who is bringing what (i.e. friedge, microwave), and to not plan at all in advance is a very poor choice by Stanford. Hooray for Brown!

Then again, they already sent us order forms to buy the optional carpet, but you can't order till you know what house you're in. Uch.

It's kind of funny that Stanford's doing that, considering that part of their application asked you to write a note to your future roommate... so they go about specifically choosing people who can communicate well with total strangers, and then you don't even get to meet your roommate until you arrive? Crazy.

Grr, I want to know already! I don't really care what dorm I get though... as long as it's closer to the Ratty. ;)

~ aleks "i am still not bringing a microwave"

I applied to Stanford and did their HS Summer program. The "write a letter to your roomate" thing is BS. They don't send it to anyone.

HURRY UP RESLIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry needed to get that off my chest. Its been weighing. :O

yeah... i didn't get mine today, and i live 45 minutes from providence, so i figure no one else did either?

I'm sick of them fooling me with their mailings! I've gotten like 3 envelopes having nothing to do with dorms. It's really tricky, too, because the return address was just "Brown University" and blah blah blah with the address. So you think, "It COULD be ResLife..." but it isn't. :(

The truth in this?

hey guys, is champlin hall any good?

because i'm living there. :P

seriously? you just got the mail?
