anyone know anything about what the rooms are like in perkins?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=76916&highlight=not+perkins

Isn't it funny how things work out?

"Your room assignment for the 2005-2006 academic year is PERKINS HALL 234."

I stayed there during ADOCH...the rooms are decent, hallways could use some rennovation. I hear it's good for cameraderie and bonding and all that stuff. It's coed, and there're guys and girls on the same floor. Seperate bathrooms though.

Oh yeah, it's in the middle of nowhere. Huzzah.

I really don't want Perkins either. But I'm just hoping I get mine before I leave next Wednesday, otherwise I won't know til the 15th, which is far too long to wait.

Bronson... I'm from LI

everett...from NJ...

Gahhhhhhhhh, Philly better be tomorrow

Now I have to wait until freaking monday. I hate the world.

where in new york are you? does that stand for central new york? And dont you get mail on saturday?

Hey guys... I just found out I'm in "New Pembroke #4". Anyone know anything about New Pembroke? I thought I remembered reading that it's suites, is that correct? Googe isn't helping...

Well I found this blurb on New Pembroke --

New Pembroke is a four-building complex that underwent extensive renovations during the summer of 1991. Each floor consists of single and double rooms with about 10 people who share a semi-private bathroom and often another common area room, such as a lounge or kitchen. Floors often become quite close-knit. The rooms are each different sizes and shapes, so one should check out individual rooms before choosing them. All buildings are coed by room. New Pembroke 3 and 4 are first-year units (but may contain a number of singles or doubles available in the Lottery). New Pembroke 2 is Quiet Hall and New Pembroke 1 is Substance-free Hall.

Anyone have more details?

Seems I'm the first living in Hope College.

damn I wanted East Andrews... sinks in the room! c'mon!

amor caelestis, are you taking ES11?

No I'm not

i'm in perkins too, and apparently in a substance-free hallway. oh well, there are bound to be parties on the other floors...

If you are living in a substance-free hallway and you don't want to be, let ResLife know now. Maybe they can do something. If that happened to me, I would call them up and complain.

Why do you think that Perkins is substance-free? It definitely isn't. No freshmen dorm is substance-free. The only substance-free dorms on campus are Plantations House and NP 1.

apparently this one hallway is. my roommate said that ResLife called her and said that since 30 or so freshmen requested it, they made a hallway for it.

and my parents requested it for me. and now they're saying it won't make a difference, and i'm hoping it won't. i'd feel bad for switching now though, after my roommate already called me and stuff.

I requested sub-free housing...what floor is your room on, thisisliz? I havent gotten housing info, but I guess thats where I'll be living.
