1 H.S. student in 20 taking college courses, say feds.

Our HS offers quite a few dual enrollment courses with Indiana University. My son attended college out of state, but it turned out that his college credits were accepted in full. He regretted not doing other courses for dual credit, although at the time he didn't know where he'd go and whether the credits would transfer. To get the college credit, there was a special exam and one had to pay college tuition.

"Ohio's postsecondary enrollment options (PSEO) program"

My daughter is taking three classes through PSEO, at Kent State University.

At our high school, there's about two dozen seniors, out of nearly 400, taking advantage of this program. Most kids prefer taking AP courses at their high school. Kids who do PSEO generally are those who are very unhappy with high school, and want to get away from that environment.
