<p>I'm a sophomore and thinking about classes next year and I must have either one or two periods off. All my classes 5.0/5.0 - AP except for advanced orchestra. Would it hurt me to take 2 off periods to focus on extracurriculars? I'm not really worried about my gpa; I just don't want colleges to think I'm lazy for not taking 7 courses.</p>
<p>Two periods off seems excessive - even for a senior - if you must take a period off, only take one. One won’t hurt you if you maintain high grades in what is otherwise a considerably rigorous schedule. </p>

<p>This is late, sorry…I am a senior and the only reason why I have two periods off is because we have eight periods in a day and I’d already taken pretty much every interesting elective the previous years. I’d go with just one, yes.</p>
