Would taking a free period in my junior year make or break my college admissions? I have an open slot since im planning on dropping soccer (too time consuming) and I can either take AP Gov/Econ or have an off period in its place. I would take AP Gov or Econ but I think I would be overloading myself taking 5 AP classes, not including Precal BC. Should I drop soccer and take either AP Gov/Econ or an off period or should I stay in my soccer class?
How many periods do you have?
In my opinion, if you have a 7 period day, an off period is fine. But I would avoid one if it was just a 6 period day.

I can’t really tell you about off periods because my school runs on a 9 period schedule and everyone has an off period, plus a lunch where we can leave school.
