10 or 16% transfer acceptance rate

bc is my dream school. i got in early last year, but stupidly passed it up. now, i want more than anything to be at boston college sophomore year. i really, really don’t want to mess it up this time around.

does anyone know why transfer acceptance rates are so low? and what can i do to get on the better side of the statistic?

If this was your dream school why did you pass it up. Getting in as a transfer is so hard. Good luck.

It's low for two reasons: 1) few people leave therefore not many spots open for transfer; 2) A LOT of people try to transfer in. If I'm not mistaken, last fall saw a 1176 transfer applications and about 123 for 90 spots was admitted (because not all admitted students will choose to go) and about 63 matriculated. Now that's only the fall, the spring added a few hundreds more into the mix and you have yourself one difficult time transferring.

Those who were successful transfered got around a 3.6+ (basically an A-) College GPA. If you were qualified to be admitted as a freshman, I think you have the required credentials, let just see how well you're doing in college.
