^^^I concur.
Whatever happened to some light humor, people?

i would have lost it if my roommate prank me. it's open act of hostility. pranks are something you might do when you're in middle school, or with your frat bros. dont **** where you eat.

I would never pull a prank that would psychically harm or alter my roommate or their belongings in anyway, and I would not be a happy camper if they did that to me. It's really not funny, and I don't appreciate that sense of humor.

I mean, if it doesn't hurt anyone except potentially the people in on it (like number nine on that list) that's funny.

That said, I saw this way back when, and it was kinda neat, real or not.

^^^um, that prank is real and that's definitely "alter(ing) (a) roommate or their belongings in anyway."

i only attempt them on april fools usually, but i filled my roomie's toothpaste tube with cream cheese and put lotion at the top of her shampoo bottle(and covered the actual opening though so they wouldnt mix and screw with her actual shampoo). and i superglued some her things down(water bottles, banana, etc., but nothing too serious).

No way? Really?

I didn't say I condoned it, but for the most part, the intentions didn't seem malicious. If the guy was okay with, why shouldn't I be?

yea seriously i thought everyone would be wayyy more lighthearted than this...who knew the boxing gloves would come out over a prank haha

There are plenty of pranks one can pull that are quite funny without causing any damage (physical or otherwise). If people are threatening violence over such lighthearted pranks, I worry for the world.

I especially liked the switching the times back on all the clocks...subtle but still funny. The saran wrap one is great; I love the vending machine one also (but done during finals week or another stressful time; not a good idea) However, I'd be not so happy/forgiving if someone colored my hair or did the secret admirer one on me, or anything that would damage my property.

When you are just getting to know someone, I don't think it'd be best to pull some of these pranks because maybe some of them would really hit a nerve and cause a rift between the two (you never know). But if they are your friends, and you know that they can take a joke (or can take some specific jokes), go for it.

Steal his laptop and sell it on ebay. Disconnect all his electronics. Shake his bed and yell earthquake. Lock him out your room when he goes to shower. Sneak in the shower room and steal his towel. Turn off the alarm clock.

I did a combination once. I turned off his alarm clock because he turned mine off because it was "annoying", I had a speech and an essay due at my 7:30 class...... so I had to get revenge because I got a B in the class because of him (no plus or minuses). I turned off his alarm clock, woke him up after classes started, when he went go shower and I stole his towel and hid it, got my stuff and locked the door and went to the library.

the missou one was HILARIOUS, i loved the kid's reaction when he walked into the room

I wonder how much time and effort it took for them to do that. Seriously, some great engineering mind at work there. Especially the bed, that would've been hard. Also suprised the ceiling did not collapse.

Look, you don't have to be too technical and complex to have some fun.
A prank is a prank.
Go have some fun!

You should know if your roommate can handle pranks. Just remember to not do something to them that you wouldn't want them to do to you.

I think that a funny prank is gluing stuff to the sidewalk and seeing all the people trying to pick it up. It doesn't hurt anyone and nobody should get mad.

okgirl, when i see a quarter that is glued to something and i try to pick it up, i get really mad. i want that quarter.

^oh I guess some people do get mad. It's probably not as mad as someone would get if you tar and feathered them or something along those lines.

tar and feather?? i'd like to think the world's pranking has come farther than that in 400 years.

I say we should try drawing and quartering.

My roommate taped my stuff all around the room with duct tape, and taped a loaf of bread under my pillow.

^^^ Wow, that's mighty brutal.
......lol.
