Tell me how I raced around campus for weeks trying to get all of my application credentials in on time and the one thing that the school has to submit (College Transcript)...was never received.

If this lowers my chance of transferring to the University of Chicago even a little bit...Im gonna be so mad.

And I requested it on feb. 24th and I have printed proof that it was Supposably sent.

I had to face a similar situation. I go to McGill and the staff here are a bunch of under-paid *****es! I hate them for screwing up my transfer apps so much, not to mention, making me run around from lazy prof to lazy prof just “confirming mid-year grades”… If anybody even remotely considers enrolling at this piece of crap university they’re ■■■■■■■■. Unfortunately, I was too :(

Yea tell me about it. I think its because they dont consider you a priority because you are leaving. It sucks how they judge you just because you want to leave their university. maybe if it wasnt garbage then people wouldnt want to leave

I was lucky. My current school has a couple of bureaucratic hurdles that made it inconvenient to get the College’s report filled out. I don’t think it was intentional, but it can feel that when dealing with staff whom (unexpectedly) don’t care much for transferring students. Luckily I had a great adviser. She helped me navigate through all the extra paperwork and offices.

While my experience was a lot work, it was not as unpleasant as some of your horror stories. I think the key is to nag the hell out of the offices responsible for getting the paperwork through. What do you have to lose? you’re leaving anyways!

Yeah same thing happen to me. A couple of schools that i sent all my information to still haven’t received my transcript. I am also worried that they will not get my teacher recommendations… all that hard work and to have it go to waste because of laziness would be a shame

I couldn’t just afford to nag those people because there is a good chance I will not be accepted anywhere. I will have to have good relations with my current school even though I hate it like hell!

Ha. My roommate switched colleges within the university, and then discovered that the college she was going to switch into isn’t taking new majors until April 13th - a week after she has to register for classes for next semester.

I’m just sort of taking the jumping through flaming hoops to even apply as a transfer to just be part of the process of weeding out the ones who go “Hey, transferring sounds cool!” from the ones who REALLY want to transfer. It’ll all be worth it in the end.

I asked one of my prof’s who I had a good relationship with to write me a LOR but he said no because he didn’t want me to leave. I was slightly hurt but okay with it as I had other prof’s and couldn’t force him to do it.

When the time came for me to get my Mid-Term report, (which of course, every prof has to sign) he outright refused. he said he would not put his signature on anything that had to do with me leaving the school. I literally begged him and he still said no. I had to go to the dean of the school who had to force him to sign it. Ugh! so much stress, I am soooo glad I’m leaving.

Wow some of you went through hell to get the college report form filled out. I just had to deal with a very reluctant Adviser, and an eternity of never stepping foot in my Department’s office.

Punkchique: ahh that sounds so horrible! I mean, i guess at least he liked you and didn’t want you to leave but that’s still very very very strange!

I’d fax that to UofC so that they know with no uncertainty that it was the school’s fault and not yours.

D1s school sent forms (one was CA the other wasn’t) to the wrong schools even though they were given everything in the correct, addressed envelopes. One school was nice enough to return the forms to her and that was when she discovered that her honors advisor who said that she wouldn’t “sabotage” her application, had not even mentioned that D1 had a full ride scholarship that goes to 15 of 6k accepted students. So, I had her go straight to the scholarship people for a “correction, addition” to the CR and they told her to write out something and they’d sign it. While she has fonder memories of her old school now, that was the final straw that made her sure she wanted to transfer.
