Do any private boarding schools accept students into the 11th grade (5th form)? I would imagine if they do, it is only a handful - 4 or 5? Any information is appreciated. Thanks

I thought 5th form was 12th grade…

They accept some students into 11th grade, I think, but not usually for 12, but I can’t say for sure…

the top schools typically accept more than 4 or 5 for 11th grade. I applied for 11th grade this year, btw,

I got accepted to Tabor and Exeter as an 11th grader

I got accepted into lawrenceville for 11th grade =]

Wallace12, yes, most schools do accept students into the 11th grade. But, getting accepted as an 11th grader is much harder. It isn’t impossible, but with the amount of candidates who apply and the diminutive number of slots available makes it a lot tougher. When I applied to Cate for 11th grade, they told me that there were only 12 other male candidates and only one spot to fill But, it varies with each school. :)

Some data I got from admission offices (11th grade girl only):

Cate: accepted < 5, waitlisted 20 girls
Groton: accepted 1-2
Hotchkiss: listed on their website that “we accept 10-20”, both boys and girls. They told me they waitlisted 40-50, both boys and girls. So the number of applicants must be quite big
Middlesex: accepted 2 (over 70 applied)
St George’s: accepted 4

Many times 11th grade acceptees include sport recruits, so the chance for a “regular” kid is even smaller. But of course there are always people who do get in :D

joshbyron- ive heard what you said. that it’s much harder, and less are accepted

Accepted into SPS as an 11th grader. 11 total new 5th formers for SPS. I am also a recruit.
