Howdy everyone! Application season is on us again. I wanted to start a thread for applicants for the 11th grade to discuss our experiences and our applications. To start off the thread, where are y’all applying? I’m applying to Andover, Exeter, Hotchkiss, Holderness, Deerfield, Brewster, George School, Concord, Storm King, and Mercersburg. Might apply Loomis Chaffee and Choate too, I’ve not decided. I’m also applying to a public 2 year residential high school in my state.
I’ve changed my list up- removed Holderness, Deerfield, Brewster, George, Storm King, and Mercersburg. Definitely applying Loomis and Choate. Added Brooks, Berkshire, Blair, and Middlesex. I had my Brooks interview today- since I live in Indiana and my dad works 7 days a week it’s difficult to visit. My Brooks interview went well- we had a few technical difficulties stemming from inexperience with Skype, but once we got it figured out, it went really well! My interviewer was great and made me very excited to apply. I have my Concord interview on Tuesday, and Exeter and Andover have confirmed that my interview will be soon.
Just got back to my hotel room from my Choate tour and interview. It was fantastic! Choate is definitely my top school, unless Loomis blows me away this afternoon. I love how casual it is and the campus is beautiful, everyone was so nice!! I don’t even know how to express how much I loved it. My interview went fantastic, my interviewer was really nice and we talked about a bunch of stuff. A lot of the people in the office were shocked we drove all the way from Indiana.
If people are looking for specifically 11th grade entry, we were at Proctor today and they seemed to have a larger number of kids that come in for 11th than I would expect after visiting other schools. Might be worth looking into for those applying for 11th.
Im in 11th grade and I applied last year to Exeter, Hotchkiss, and Andover. I was WL at Exeter and Hotchkiss and rejected at Andover. This year, I’m applying to repeat 11th at Exeter and Hotchkiss. Good luck to everyone!
