1210 to 1300+?

How feasible should it be to go from a 1210 (630 CR, 580 M) to at least 1300? I took the SAT once my sophomore year and got an 1100, and now once my junior year with a 1210. I finished Algebra II/Trig. this year, when during my SAT, I didn't really have Trig. completed. Will Trig. help me for the math section?

Also, how far in advance should I start studying for the October SAT? I am going to start studying for the ACT soon to bring my 29 to a 30+. What do you guys recommend?

It could but honestly you don’t really need to know it. I’ve never used it on the SAT or PSAT and I’ve only missed one question combined, which was a proportions question lol. And btw the SAT has a writing section too
I’d say start studying mid-august

The sooner the better, lol.
Although the math rarely has any trig, it will help you alot with geometry problems.

A 30 ACT does not translate to a 1300 SAT. If there is that large of a score discrepancy, ditch the SAT and focus on the ACT.

^Actually, a 1300 is the equivalent of a 29-30 because he means M + CR. Assuming that the Writing is not that far off from the rest of the sections (close to 650) this should stay the same.

It’s definitely a feasible jump, because the math section isn’t too difficult to improve on. Just make sure that you take a lot of practice tests and go over all your mistakes so that you understand what you did wrong. Try to finish each section with at least 5 minutes to spare so that you can check your work, because that will help a lot too. I would also recommend starting to prep in mid-August, or take a prep class over the second half of the summer. Good luck!

Oh, oops. I thought he was referring to his composite score :P

It is definitely possible, my SAT score was 200 points higher than what my PSAT score predicted. I studied frantically with the blue a few weeks before my SAT test. I’m hoping that I can get 200 more points.

Best of Luck!
