Sorry to bait you guys into clicking this thread but I need help to answer two questions for a friend of mine. First what is better to have on an application - playing an instrument for six years or playing a sport for four years. Second, what is the best site to read student reviews of different colleges. Once again, sorry for the deception.

Depends on the intrument.

Piano and violin = no difference. Whereas Harp, Oboe, Bassoon, etc. = big difference. (Unless you're a virtuouso at one or more of the more common instruments.)

How dare you make me click this fallacious thread lol

if the person is a nerd with really good scores I'd go with the sports so as to show he's not ONLY a nerd... and that he actually did physical activity.

Lol if this thread baited so many people why do u only have 2 comments.

oh and i like using asterisks

You'd get more answers if you just asked whether playing sports or playing an instrument is better when it comes to admissions.

I might have answered that question. I don't answer posts, however, when their subject headers were deliberately misleading. In fact, once I notice that a poster has done that, I stop clicking on their posts.

I also think that if your friend is so interested, your friend could post instead of expecting you to do so. Is this the same friend whom you were apologizing for?

oooouuuu.....

someones' in twobbllee with the 'rents

and deservedly so.

well, i played bassoon for 7 years (1st chair of my high school district), but i didnt really it felt like it made much of a difference on my college apps... maybe cuz i wasnt all-state or anything.
