is it possible to register for 15 credits ( 5 classes 3 credits each) in your 1st semester? i cudnt find that info anywhere. im looking to transfer out of where i am now so to meet the 24 credit req i need 15.

most people take 14-16 credits their first semester

.......................

Yes, you can register for 15 credits (5 classes with 3 credit) That's the basic system of most colleges. Liberal Art Colleges go by a 16 credits (4 classes with 4 credits)

how come universities give only 3 credits per class?

Well it depends on the classes. electives at my school at 3units while foreign language classes are 5 units.

i just owned 18 units this fall 06 with 5 classes and spring 07 semester will consist of 15 units with 5 classes.

Well I always used to take three 3-unit classes and one 5-unit class... total 14 unit. That worked out fine for me. Not too much, not too less. Fit perfectly with my job and internship while leaving 3-4 hours for studying and homework.

5 classes just seem to packed. maybe possible without jobs and all that, but eh... not my style :P

Yeah having a job plays a big deal in it too. I am able to do 5 classes which usually add up to 18 units fine because I don't work

It all depends on the color of your skin and dont let anyone tell you otherwise!!!

uh... ?

Yeah...you can take 15 credit hours during your first semester. Some schools set the bar to a maximum of 19 credit hours, however if your hungry for more...I'd think you would have to talk with your registrar or the department head of the course you want to take (the one the exceeds 19 credit hours).
