<p>If a university gets a higher yield than expected and can’t house them all, they might take back your housing. most schools guarantee freshman housing and northeastern requires freshman to live on campus, but if they have way more enroll than they can fit, they might only offer housing to the more qualified applicants. this happened to my dad who got into a college and sent in his deposit, then was notified mid-summer that he wouldn’t get housing freshman year because they had too many people decide to attend. this also happened at BU last year, and they rented or bought houses as close as possible to campus and housed the overflow freshman there. as another way to compensate they are being much more selective and accepting less kids this year</p>
