15 Years Old, What Should I Choose...

I have narrowed my list to UPenn and Williams. Where do you think I will do better. I also wanted to add that 2 of my school mates also got into UPenn.

Good advice is definately welcome.

Are you a 15 year old senior/junior? Then why the hell are you already deciding which colleges you will get into/go to?

At your age, it is rediculous to start narrowing down which colleges you will be deciding between. Use the next 2 years to explore and expand first, then narrow it down in the end.

umm...i think he means that he already got accepted, and is deciding where to attend

i would go to penn, because williams is too isolated and penn has a much better social scene...though at 15, i don't know to what degree you would want that/be able to take advantage of that

Depends, what did you get for financial aid. Plus your major. I'd say go for UPenn but I dunno enough about your circumstances.

Paul and Devil,

I am a graduating Senior who is 15. I was accepted to UPenn and Williams.

Please try not to consider money as a reason for advice. I am looking for educational merit, social, weight of degree.

I want to major in Chemical engineering and Political Science.

Thanks for your help.

how can you be 15 and a senior? Did you start school at age 2? Puberty?

he probably skipped a few grades

Oh, yah, I am female as well.

I skipped 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, and started Middle school 6th grade at 8.

You're going to have an AWFUL social life at any school you choose.

Have fun!

i really don't think that college is the place for a 15 year old girl...in all seriousness, UPenn could put you in some..."sticky" situations

at least at williams there's less of a chance of that

Williams doesn't have undergrad engineering, although it does offer a 3-2 engineering program in conjunction with Columbia. The Williams website has this info. Here is the relevant Willipedia article.

Well, I guess if I hadn't already been with the same group of kids for 7 years, I'd say you were right. BUT, I wasn't accelerated yesterday, and if I were going to have a bad time with people older than me, don't you think that would have happened by now??

If colleges knew that I were accepted Yesterday, and couldn't handle the social, they would not have taken the risk of accepting me.

moving on.

I don't agree that you'll have an "awful social life at any school you choose." You just have to find your niche. I had a college friend who started at a before she turned 16 and graduated at barely age 20. There really wasn't any difference between us other than about 2 1/2 years of age.

My question for you is, would you consider yourself a mature 15? Are you streetwise and cautious? Can you handle things that you see in the city that you might not see in a rural or suburban area (there's things I see in Philly that still open my eyes at my age!) Don't follow the crowd just because two of your friends are going there.

If You answer no to one or more of the above, perhaps rural Williams would be a better fit for you than an urban campus like Penn. I'd definately re-visit both before you make your final decision. The decision is up to you. Don't listen to people who know nothing about you.

if you consider yourself developmentally (i doubt that's a word) on par with your peers even if you're 15, then it shouldn't matter.

if you're that confident...but i went to a couple frat parties while i was at penn...there's a difference between your 18 year old friends and 21 year old frat guys...but whatever. going back to my first post, i think penn is a much better experience.

Oh, my mistake. Wow, I'm very impressed in that case. I'd say Penn is the superior of the two

Yah at 15 I'd say Williams might be a bit more nurturing than West Philly.

I'd choose Williams. It's smaller, which makes the environment more personal and close-knit. Even though it doesn't have an engineering program itself, you can always attend the 3-2 program Catfish mentioned.

By the way, no one in college really cares how old anyone else is. I have friends who are 16 and 25 years old, and they are well adjusted. And not everyone in college is into the party culture, so if bexline isn't into it, that doesn't mean her social life is going to suffer.

Thanks Sorry, Thats what I thought anyway. I am not the party seen goer...I wouldn't be where I am today if I were.

Does Williams have staying power for 4 years, or will I want to transfer 2 years after being there??

Can any one give me an idea of how expensive things are in both places??
