<p>HELLO..i'm sort of new here..i've always looked around but never posted a thread, reply, etc.</p>
<p>well, UPenn (Wharton...or perhaps CAS) has been my absolute first choice since...almost forever! However, my parents want me to go to a public school in Tennessee, (where I live, btw) partly because of money issues...basically they dont want me to go to a 40k/year school. My parents are very clingy when it comes to me leaving them.. I was wondering if Penn is liberal with their Grants. Are there also other financial options for me to consider (e.g. scholariships).</p>
<p>*Here is some background information/credentials (if any of you know some scholarships, or anything for that matter, that may help):
-Current Junior in H.S.
-African American Female
-Currently ranked 7th/463,
-Taken the hardest curriculum my school has to offer
-5's on all of the AP exams i've taken last yr. (Human Geo., Envonmental Sci., Euro, Psych)...i've studied the later 2 independently.
-Immigrant Mother/Military (retired) father
-PLAN (pre ACT) score=30,
-Founder: Teens for Humanity
-Rotary: Appointed Student Ambassador to S.E. France/Italy (to study Latin/Classics independently)
-Tennessee Governors School for International Studies
-1st Place State: Strategic Economic Buisness Plan (9th Grade)
-1st Place State: Entrepreneurship (10th Grade)
-Selected-Youth Leadership CLKS. class of 2008
-District Champion: AAHB
-Beta Junior Rep. (one of the largest chapters in the South)
-Mayor's Youth Council (organized the Youth Summit, worked directly with the Mayor, etc.)
-3rd in state: Extemp. speech (10th) (many district/local wins)</p>
