150 word extracurricular essay questions

A lot of schools require the 150 word essay asking you to elaborate on an extracurricular or work experience. Does anyone have any advice for this? What exactly are they looking for? It's so difficult because of the word limit, and I'm not really sure exactly what I'm supposed to be showing here. My ECs range from service to stereotypical geek school clubs, and I'm afraid of picking the wrong one and then not really showing them anything with the essay. Can anyone provide some guidance? I've looked for examples of successful ones online, but haven't really found much.

bump

I still haven’t found much, but is this supposed to be straightforward, “tell,” or more creative, “show”?

150 words is so short, straightforward tell would be better unless you think you can really pull off a show. Imo, there’s a place for both, but I think “showing” can be overrated sometimes. If you’re very authentic, personal, and consistent with your voice with a tell, I think admissions officers will like that much more than metaphors and description.

Yeah i have the same question as well

Thank you so much!
