I’m going to a community college this upcoming semester (planning to transfer to a Uc) and I’m not sure if I should take 13 or 16 units?
So far I’m taking: theatre, oceanography and lab, online history class, and interpersonal communication
Should I take psychology too?
Also I’m probably not gonna work this semester.
You need to average 15 units per semester to be transfer-ready in four semesters and graduate in eight semesters.
One unit is supposed to mean about 3 hours of work per week, so 15 units is supposed to mean 45 hours of work per week (including in-class and out-of-class time). In practice, some courses may be less work than that while others may be more work than that. Courses with more work tend to have labs, art studio or performance, or big term projects.
You also need to consider which courses you need to transfer to your target UC and major. See https://www.assist.org .
