<p>bingxing – BYU sounds like a great option for you, and I believe the admissions committee will see your 670 as very strong, and your 440 in the context of applying from a non-English speaking country.</p>

<p>As to not being Mormon (referring to RandomAdmit’s post above): Lots of students at BYU are not LDS. I’m guessing, but probably 10-15% – Recruited Athletes, internationals, agnostics, LDS members who are closet agnostics, etc. As with any church sponsored University in the U.S. (Baylor-Baptist, Pepperdine-Church of Christ, Catholic universities, etc), if you don’t want to engage in discussion about religion, you just don’t. The students at BYU will of course want to convince you to become LDS, that is natural, but it’s up to you. Religion is not like a virus — you can’t unknowingly “catch it”. You will have to come to grips with the reality that in the LDS world, white males are at the top of God’s order… but that is easy to ignore as long as you are secure in who you are.</p>
<p>Oh, there is also a BYU in Hawaii… much smaller, probably not having the majors you listed, but the same price.</p>
