1st Quarter Grades

I’m applying to UVA EA. Should I upload my 1st quarter grades using the upload tool on the applicant portal or just wait and send mid-year grades?

Thanks

If you want them to look at your Senior year grades apply RD. If applying EA only your 9th - 11th grades will be used

^ Not quite.
For EA, UVA asks for the midterm report to be submitted “as soon as available.” There will be kids who submit first quarter grades when a true mid-year is some time off. When does yours come out, @shs888? This may be a GC question, if you’re in VA (where the GCmay know) or a reason to call and ask.

Spoke with the alumni liaison at UVa about this last week and was told exactly what I referenced above.

On the web, they ask for midyears as soon as available. Why would they, if they won’t review them? If you send them, they will see them. Admissions, that is. Not sure of the alum liaison’s direct involvement.

And really, any applicant wants to maximize his chances. Not lean back. As it is, too many good candidates take things for granted.

Can you link me to where they say they only review 9-11?

In bold print - EA 9-11 grades and Senior year courses/RD adds Fall of Senior year grades

You might as well send them. Worst case, they don’t look at them but best case it helps you get accepted, especially is you have all high A’s

I do see the confusion, cavitee.

@lookingforward , no worries. I was told even if the grades are sent they will no be looked at (that can be good, bad or indifferent.) The only way to be sure they are seen is apply RD

Thanks for the help
