How do you know if you should send your 1st quarter grades to a school? My daughter’s ED school had an upload function on the application portal for this, so she sent them in, but she has applied to a lot of other schools who had EA options (USC, UVA, UNC, Maryland, Ohio State), plus schools who just have late decision dates (like U of Texas, U of Washington, U of Florida, FSU). Her 1st quarter grades are good (as her grades have been through her 1st 6 semesters). Her guidance counselor says if a school wants them, they will ask. But she doesn’t want to be passive miss out on an opportunity to add to her application if other applicants are doing it.
Agree with your counselor. Some schools asked for them - Emory being one as I remember.
But most who you applied to during the Fall are basing on six semesters.
No reason to provide unless requested.
My son and daughter applied so many you just listed - UMD, UF, UNC). Both got into the first two. Daughter only applied to UNC and was rejected.
Neither sent in anything because their files were complete.
At this point you wait. If they want more they’ll ask!!
Good luck.
